Oliver Stone film, anyone going to see it?

Whatada 05-17-2006 03:56 PM

I know it sounds cheesey, but every time I watch an old news-coverage or video of this I just get filled up with I dunno what... Something between tears and rage.. Not the kind of rage that makes you smash something into pieces, but.. I dunno.. I just feel horrible in the worst way.

I'll probably see this.

Coleman 05-17-2006 03:58 PM

it reminds me of Ladder 49 with Travolta. That was a good movie.
I may see it...

Scorched Earth 05-17-2006 03:58 PM

i think its too soon. and just plain aweful to exploit the incident as a marketing technique just for profit.

elstatec 05-17-2006 03:58 PM

respect to the actual event and all but cant they leave anything alone? guess hollywood has run out of sequels.

Whatada 05-17-2006 04:00 PM
i think its too soon. and just plain aweful to exploit the incident as a marketing technique just for profit.[/quote:b31ca] It's hard to tell. Movies aren't always for the money, but those are usually Indies.

I dont know, i didnt see United 93. But for some reason i might see this movie, it actually looks good.

CoMaToSe 05-17-2006 04:05 PM

Webb 05-17-2006 04:20 PM

CoMaToSe 05-17-2006 04:29 PM

How can you make a movie on WTC already, fuck flight 93, honestly this is a load of crap, everyone knows what happened that day, no need to make a movie on it. But i like that they are focusing on the firefighters, since my neighbor was a firefighter on 9/11 and died that day.

Milla 05-17-2006 06:07 PM

My dad thinks it looks pretty good (Is a retired NYC firefighter)

Himmler 05-17-2006 06:36 PM

I saw united 93 last night, it wasnt that great from a movie standpoint as it was pretty boring but it shows hows atupid the flight controllers and everyone on the ground was. They knew that there was a possiblity of a high jack and the plane was way off course and yet they kept walking around twilding there thumbs thinking, no way its a highjacking so lets just keep wondering if it is and not doing anything about it!

Arkan 05-17-2006 08:35 PM

Fuck both movies. They should've waited 25 years after the fact.

I knew alot of people that died that day.

Exactly what I think about... Fuck, everyone already knows about it, so why do they feel that they have a story to tell? I see the need for movies like SPR and such, but all they're doing with this is cashing in on it..

Still, looks like it could be decent.

Bucknub 05-17-2006 09:03 PM

ugh... why cant they stop milking this?

must it be relived over and over again?

I'm gonna see it

gtboys34 05-17-2006 09:20 PM

looks great but WAY to early imo

05-17-2006 09:29 PM

yeah it is too early. I will see it though.

dr nein 05-17-2006 09:40 PM

People won't really care in 25 years meaning they'll make more money releasing it now.

CoMaToSe 05-18-2006 03:36 AM

I agree that its too soon for a movie like this, but people who say movies have never been made this soon after a tragedy are fools. WWII films were being made while WWII was still happening, FFS.

ninty 05-18-2006 04:57 PM

propaganda that exploits those who died to make a buck.
