X-MEN 3 Spoilers Thread(SPOILERS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)
Discuss Plotlines and Thoughts after youve seen the flick
Great action and decent storyline. I didnt stay through the end however so I dunno what happens after the credits. if someone discusses it please put a warning so I can scroll past it. It was pretty surreal for me the direction they took in the movie in killing Cyclops and Professor X via complete obliteration and breaking them into atoms. Just like jinroh had said I didnt think they would take such a turn in the series by killing off 3 of the 6 original characters from the originating comic. They also REALLY minimized the role of rouge, why did she even show up for this movie. I was pretty pissed that Cyclops role in the films was shortened in the 2nd and basically wiped out into Im a pussy crybaby who dies within 20 minutes of the movie. I mean he is fucking the 2nd in charge of the entire fucking xmen. |
I was bullshit when they killed Xavier and Cyclops. They didn't even show how he died. And how did Gene (after killing Cyclops) go into this dormant state again? I figured she would fuck everything up. And in the comics Gene is supposed to be overcome by the Pheonix and be launched into space where she destroys planets and shit, not just be killed by Logan(whom she could have folded into a tofu square by the time he reached her). The plot was retarded.

I didnt like as much when they killed Xavier and Cyclops. Also how they minimized the characters of Rogue and Archangel, I was pretty pissed off about it(mostly of Archangels)...

I thought the movie was ok, nothing spectacular. I liked the second more than I did this one. Who knows if they will throw another one into the mix, I think they just might. Lets hope this time tho that the bad guy is Apocolypse! beer: |
There will be no 4th. The three movies are meant to be it's own three [epidose] trilogy.

I heard they are making a 4th, along with separate movies for Wolverine and Magneto. i didnt see past the credits, but apparently Xavier put his conscious into that braindead guy he was talking about in the movie, and they show that after the credits. |

The movie was great. How did Moira know that it was Charles though? I could only guess that Moira was told by Charles through the mind. Crazy stuff.
Oh, and I have a theory that all those people evaporated are just sent into a difference ... universe? |
meh, thought the first two movies were better. the 'duel' between pyro and iceman as well as the whole bitch-fest relationship between them was almost as gay as cyclops the hardcore badass was. i also did not like how storm seemed to get bested by a novice noob that magneto recruited from some rally filled with nobodys. it had a good storyline, but was badly carried out. there was not enough scenes devoted to the story that where fitted given the running length of entire film, i think there were too many 'observery/non-action' scenes. it was def not worth $9 for the ticket and does not improve the triology or warrant a dvd spot on my shelf.

No point.
[quote:40f3b] For those who saw the secret ending after the credits, this explains the backstory of its filming. It's kind of a neat trivia. And yes, the source, Superherohype.com is reliable. "Yeah, the studio didn't even know I did it," Ratner chortled. "I didn't even put it on the schedule. I shot in between set-ups, just went over there and shot it, and then I showed it to the studio and they went 'Oh My God, we love that!' because it keeps Xavier. Look, in the last one, Jean Grey died and then I saw her on the first day of shooting X3, so nobody dies in these movies? What the hell are they talking about?" "I was aware of three endings for this movie, all under different circumstances," confirmed Patrick Stewart when asked about it. "There was the ending in the script, which we all saw. There was a scene, which I shot in the hospital bed, in the first days of filming. It never appeared on paper, there was no call for it, it was never documented, this scene. It never got shot. In other words, we sneaked it in after lunch one day and there were not many people on the set. It was a cut-down crew, and it was all done very hurriedly because they stuck a beard on me over lunch and we shot it. Then Ian called me a few weeks ago and said, 'You won't believe this but they're coming to London and they're going to shoot the final scene of the movie,' which is of course is of interest to me. He said, 'I'm playing chess' and of course I wanted to know, 'Who with?' and he said, 'They won't tell me' but of course there's no one there at all. Last night, when I sat down to watch the movie for the first time I had no idea how this was going to be resolved. We were all on our feet leaving during the credits when someone from Fox said, 'You should sit down. It's not over yet.' I couldn't imagine what that meant and then sure enough, there was this little hospital scene, which is hinted at in the video I play in the class, about a man who had terminal cancer and you can transfer somebody's consciousness into him. Something I missed last night is that Olivia Williams, who plays Moira [McTaggert], is in the memorial scene. I missed her, but in fact she is." Unfortunately, a lot of people might have missed this scene or couldn't wait until the end of the credits. "Let them come back and see the movie again," Ratner said in his usual "no bullsh*t" manner. http://superherohype.com/news/x-mennews.php?id=4307 [/quote:40f3b] |

In the comics - there is an "arc" where Jean (who the fuck is "Gene" - Mean Gene Okerlund?) transplants her mind into that of the White Queen, Emma Frost (a fellow telepath) - so obviously noone dies in comics, or comic book movies.
As for the movie - it had none of Brian Singers "style" - but it was what the other two were, big action set pieces, light on story. |
Yeah, I noticed the style was different emotionally. In X3, everything seemed more extreme and desperate. First two... well, I don't know how to describe those two.
|
Moira MacTaggert: Charles' ex-fiancée, Moira turns up later on as a lifetime friend who interacts with the X-Men often.

Im the juggernaut bitch...
