When I was in Vegas we went to a place called the "Hookah Gallery" in the Alladin.

We had a couple smoke sessions and decided that we wanted to buy one. Three of my friends pooled some money and bought one plus a bag of coals and three boxes of tobacco for $100.

Anyone do this stuff? It's freaking amazing. Relaxes your entire body.

Our hookah is pretty modest. We wanted to start off small. Here is what it is similar to. Perhaps a bit smaller:

It has a red glass bowl instead.

Is it like smoking a cigarette? Or a bit lighter?

oh fuck yeah ninty. I was introduced to Shisha when I went to school and have been a huge fan of it since. It's the lightest/smoothest smoke i've tasted so far, and by the far the best tasting.
What flavours did you grab? Are the coals self-lighting?

there's 0% tar and 0.5% nicotine, however, one session lasts 30 - 45 minutes, so it's probably worse than one cigarette. But yeah, it's like smoking, but tastes way better. You can buy all kinds of different flavours like peach or coffee or whatever you want. I'm not going to smoke it every day, and I don't want to, and it's at my friends house anyway, but i thinking smoking it every once in a while won't hurt...that much anyway.

It's totally legal as well. Customs didn't even say anything about it and it went through the x ray scanner thingy. maybe they missed it or something.

Anti, we got memories which is mint coffee and something else i can't remember mixed together, peach and cherry. Didn't realize how small the packages of tobacco are though. Probably smoke 2 bowls and the tobacco is gone from the one pack.

We talked to four seperate people about the coals and they all recommened the same ones. They don't have any metals or shit in them, i think their just regular barbecue coals. Their long black and round. Put them on the stove for a few minutes and they light up pretty good. They said that tere are discs that some people use but they contain magnesium so you're breathing that in your smoke.

I'll try to get a pic of mine, but my camera is at one buddys house, and the hookah is at anothers house.

And we did have tobacco with it, but we didn't claim it at the border and they didn't notice.

stay away from double apple though that shit is terrible

double apple is good, probably my favourite. i'm not sure about my coals since they were given to me, but they've been the best that i've seen so far. they're covered in a layer of flammable material that you light (takes a few seconds) and it will burn away causing the whole coal to light. i'm not sure how good it is for you, but whatever; i don't do it that often.

the ones that i have you have to keep on the stove for a while for them to light. we're going to buy a hot plate because it made the house smell a bit.

you can find pretty decent size packs at a local head shop if you have one, the shops here in vegas only give you small amounts because they want you to spend a shit load of money on them

How hard does yours hit; by that I mean is there alot of smoke or is there ALOT of smoke? I think mines getting a bit old and losing it's sealent. i've been thinking of getting a new one, but I could be going crazy and just getting used to the amount of smoke that comes out after a toke.


All the Eastern guys and gals I smoked with always told me about how cheap it was to buy a hookah and accessories from their homeland. To them, a hookah is maybe $25, here a good one is around $125. I'm still living off the tobacco I was given, I have yet to find a place around here the sells it (cheers to living in a shitty hick town).

we got our pretty smokey the other night. you could hardly see inside the glass bowl. only at the top of the bowl could you see the stem, it was a pure white smoke. i'll try to take some pictures some day and show you.

One concern we do ahve though is that the bowl on top holding the tobacco is not sealed. it has no grommet or rubber around the inside of the bowl and can move around a bit on top of the stem. You can hear the bubbles from the glass bowl out the top of the tobacco bowl. When we were smoking at the shop, you couldn't hear anything and I think the bowl on top was sealed. Anti, is yours sealed at the top? Do you know if you can buy something for that? When we smoked it you could see smoke escaping out the bowl. So I know we don't have a complete seal at the top.

If you want flavored tobacco, you can get flavored cigarettes.

Have you ever tried to smoke weed through it, anti? I never used one before...Hows it different from a bong?

it hits as good if not better then a bong imo, but the only draw back is that it makes your hoses taste like crap after you smoke weed through it

mix it with nargila and youll get a good high, but its not as intense as straight bong hits or whatever, youll still get the light-headedness tho

i have a small/med one hose hookah, ive had it for a couple yrs and its getting old and doesnt hit as well as it used to

in fact we ran out of coals for it a while ago, but i love the smoke, theres a hookah bar real close by that has tons of sweet flavors, as well as special house blends and shit for pretty cheap if split between a few people

Only used one 3 times...

once in august of last year in my backyard...once at university before class....and once last weekend camping in the cold

It was enjoyable...weird feeling.

And ive tried weed in it that first time too...id rather just smoke a joint.

There used be a store called Kurkuk's down the street from me that sold HUGE hookah's for cheap and every saturday night all the old arab men would sit outside and play domino's and smoke hookahs until like 2 am, we partied with them one night, they can drink.

On my last trip to Montreal we were in the old harbor section of town walking aorund going into random doors and what not. We ended up in as hot that sold hookas between 3-6 feet tall, bangs taller than me, and so many other smoking deivces I didnt even know existed. I guess the laws are a lot less restrictive up there than down in the states as I havent seen that shit anywhere down here.

Stupid Harper..lowering the legal amount to two grams, bo-urns! and as of may 31st you can't smoke within 30 meters of any store or public building.

I know a shop in Georgetown in DC just like that.

Its huge here in Germany, most of my friends pack their own Shishas, and Ive been to a few Shisha bars. But personally,. I prefer cigarettes, more relaxing.

place was called the Velvet Hookah in Dallas, maybe some texans here will know it. Tried all kinds of flavours, strawberry, peach, etc. gorgeous stuff and kind of addictive to me as I was smoking lots of it..... dance:
