horray guns

me, my sister, and my grandma were going through my granddad's stuff, since we havn't since his death 2 months ago, and we came across some of his old guns.

a .22 pistol:

a .38 special police edition:

a winchester .22 pump-action rifle and a browning 16-guage hunting shotgun

and probably my favorite out of them all, a colt M1903 .32 calibur automatic

we found the pistols under his underwear, all loaded, and the rifle and shotgun in a closet.

1080jibber 07-21-2006 06:21 PM

what a nut, having a loaded gun.

you want to give me that .38 special police edition, it looks cool
are you guys going to sell any?

CoMaToSe 07-21-2006 07:06 PM

Loaded guns in the underwear drawer annoy:

'Honey, where are all my boxers at-'
'BANG'
'...'
'...'
'... Ow.'

Simo Häyhä 07-21-2006 09:12 PM

Awesome stuff man!

WidowMaker555 07-22-2006 01:21 AM

was your grand father in the military?

He has quite a collection

Eames 07-22-2006 02:23 AM

sweet collection, keep us posted if yall are selling them.

SoLiDUS 07-22-2006 05:33 AM

Loaded != dangerous. It's only a problem with irresponsible people and children who don't know better...

CoMaToSe 07-22-2006 06:19 AM

leaving a loaded gun in an unlocked box/DRAWER IS a sign of irresponsiblity, and no offense, but its people like that who allow guns to be stolen and used by criminals, kids who shoot up schools, and little kids who accidentally kill each other. People like them who give the second amendment a bad rep.

Its people like this who use there weapons as home defense tools to not allow them to be stolen and used in crimes. Also, unless you have a huge gun safe that had to be installed by 3 guys and is bolted down, someone breaking into your house while your gone will steal them. IE fireboxes, locked pistol cases, locked rifle cases, etc.

Look at it this way. There his grandfathers weapons, in other words two old people living in a house with no kids. Now the kids come over for a visit the grandparents are always around and rarly leave kids unsupervised, hell they only see them rarly. Not likly that a kids is going to go looking through there grandparents underwear drawer anyhow.

FREEEDOMMMMMMM!!!!!

BlackJackal 07-22-2006 06:01 PM

well, my mom doesnt want them in the house, so probably my uncle will end up with them, since when my great-granddad died, he got all his hunting shotguns and such, hopefully he wont get them though. btw: the .22 pump is a remington, not winchester. but yeah, my grandma in the 50 some years they were married never knew he owned them, and she'd even been in the drawer, but not ever emptied it so she never saw the pistols, and the rifle and shotgun were in the back corner of a closet my granddad had to himself. he was in the military, he joined the airforce to avoid the draft in 1951, stationed in texas, but he never told us he had them, and we just thought he forgot he had them. i cleared them all and checked several times to be sure, and the automatics at least didn't have a round chambered. if i do eventually get them, i'd probably just sell the .22 pistol, it doesnt even have a rear sight. it says "high-standard military" on the slide if that means anything

is their a large market for old guns?

Simo Häyhä 07-22-2006 06:47 PM

i buy old guns

BlackJackal 07-22-2006 06:50 PM

oh yeah, i forgot, we found a large quantity of .22 ammo, as well as .32 and .38 rounds. only 3 shotgun shells, all were dove/quail load

Johnj 07-23-2006 12:28 AM

I advise you to get those pistols appraised. If they are in good or better condition they may be worth quite a bit of money.

gtboys34 07-23-2006 02:16 AM

check the prints before you use those things

i've given it some thought and research, and if i am able to aquire the guns, which is probable but unlikely, i'll probably sell the .22 rifle and pistol and possibly the shotgun. the M1903 and the .38 special are ones i'll most likely hang on to.

the pistol appears to be a Colt Woodsman

if so, it does have decent collectors value.
