Clerks II

everybody go see it, it was the greatest movie ever (maybe)

Simo Häyhä 07-22-2006 01:53 AM

will do

SoLiDUS 07-22-2006 04:32 AM

The movie's plot involves many of the thoughts that have plagued me as of late: finding purpose and direction in an otherwise purposeless existence is troubling me... and I've yet to decide on a particular course. It was a funny movie, but the undercurrents are haunting to those of us currently debating our next step (the biggest one) in life.

oOo:

Gonzo 07-22-2006 04:48 AM

saw clerks 2 today and must fucking funny as all hell. its more vular than clerks 1 and it has a story with some heart behind it. kevin smith has really proved that he isnt a hack. this is a great buddy film that you have to see it with your best friend. i love the ending so much. im probably going to flamed for this but. towards the end i almost shed a tear. ive watched his movies for so long and grew to love the charaters and to see how thier lives turned out. kevin smith has kept me waiting for 7 years after i saw dogma. and its worth the wait.
11/10

CoMaToSe 07-22-2006 05:21 AM

when I go back to the states, Im going to buy and watch all of kevin smiths films. I know most/all of them occur in the same little microcosm of characters and setting, so is there a particularorder in which I should watch them?

Gonzo 07-22-2006 09:40 AM

yes watch them in order even thou mallrats takes place one day before clerks

clerks
mallrats
chasin amy
dogma
jay and bob strike back

Nyck 07-22-2006 09:58 AM

Definitely one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. SOOOOOOOOO ridiculously funny, and much better than the first (although I love the first one).

I saw it, I didnt laugh as much as the whole theater, but I thought it was pretty good. It at least made me wanna see Clerks 1.

The one thing I cant stand about Kevin Smith movies is that, people will get in fucking arguements and they go on and on. Pisses me off to no end.

Madmartagen 07-24-2006 12:34 PM

i saw it yesterday and thought it was funny. i have to see the first one now.

Airborne Butters 07-24-2006 12:53 PM

I saw the first one Saturday. I paid somewhat attention to it. I got a grasp on most of it. The only thing about the second one was that it never explained what happend to that Veronica girl. Maybe I have to watch a majority of the films in between clerks 1 and 2. Also, you'd imagine they'd show the scene where the Jesus kid gets high and drunk, but they just show the end result. Go figure.

I would have liked to see Jay and Silent Bob convince him, could have made a pretty funny dialogue.

RaNgeR 07-24-2006 01:08 PM

Where the fuck did that dude maple go?

Yes..I really enjoyed clerks 2; for a comedy like that I dont think it could have been written any better - honestly.

Doctor Duffy 07-24-2006 01:55 PM

I kept thinking the guy who marries the black chick looks a lot like Zoner.

I dont understand the 'for a comedy' part of his post. And my point was that, given the difficulty in writing comedies, would that not make one thats quite hysterical then extremely well written in general? The insinuation in Ranger's post was that comedy was a lower form of writing, and I was questioning that.

....

That is the DUMBEST fucking response I have ever read. You're pretty fucking stupid for a nerd.
It is pretty damn clear that he didn't insinuate ANYTHING like you claim he did, and quite honestly I have no idea how the fuck you came up with that shit.

That is nothing like the original phrase.

Re-read it a few times you overweight fan-of-fattening-food.

He's saying that for the style of comedy it was, it was well written.
He was obviously insinuating that said style of comedy is hard to write - Why would he dog it by saying its piss-easy and then in the same sentence praise it for being well written...?

I can't believe you're so stupid that I had to use as many posts as I did to explain something that is so fucking clear and simple....be a little more perceptive.

FOR A COMEDY LIKE THAT
That phrase suggests that he doesnt think comedies can ever break a certain cieling of writing quality. Perhaps you should try reading a few books every now and then, perhaps then you'll be more familiar with the effect and use of phrases like these.
