and apparently so are you.

You say that people should be able to run their servers as they wish, and are free to hate Jews if they wish (though I am sure you would be happy to plug in Blacks, Asians, Hindus, Buddhists etc.). You also say that you are sick of people complaining about racists and say "what about live and let live". Well that is exactly what racists DON'T believe in.

Racist bigots believe in xenophobic fantasies that have no basis in fact whatsoever, and they spread their misinformed, ignorant opinions around as a means of justifying their hating and fearing other individuals they know nothing about other than the color of their skin or the fact their accent or religion is different than their own. They believe their way, skin color, language, god is the only way and anyone else is subhuman and not deserving of any rights whatsoever. They believe in using such bullshit propaganda and uneducated rhetoric to channel their own frustrations about their own shortcomings as human beings, and blame whatever problems they or their society has on those “other” people.

It is amazing how such cowards spew their ignorant crap in game servers and message boards since they know they are anonymous and are safe from having to back up what they spew. It is even more amazing how tolerant everyone else is about it. I realize that a lot of it is just macho posturing on the part of little boys trying to show how mean and tough they are, or just to be controversial. And most of us just ignore it since they are basically just wearing a sign on their backs saying “see what an ignorant and stupid asshole I am!” But some people are truly offensive.

There was some guy on a server the other night with a name like “lynches niggers”. OOoooo how controversial. If it was my server he would have been gone in an instant. If it were the real world and not cyber he would have been left drooling blood on the shoes of his mother. Server Admins who allow that kind of racist crap are complicit. Ignoring it sends the message it is ok.

I would be happy to help maintain and publicize a list of servers that promote or allow racist or other bigoted dialog and character names, and make sure the gaming community as a whole is made aware of them. I should like to think MOST people would agree that the whole MOH environment would be a much better place without the childish, racist bullshit.

And as for the sniveling, cowards who spew such stupid, hateful garbage, I would be happy to provide them my address should they want to back up their anonymous drivel by coming to visit me and learning first hand how assholes are dealt with in Brooklyn.

Try not to let the Freak get under your skin. Ignoring his more controversial comments often makes him go away. People posting obviously inflammatory crap are usually trolling for a hit, and your just giving him his fix, just breathe deep, relax and pity from afar....feel free to laugh a little too.

Hear, Hear! So well said. Personally I would love to see a list put together. It would be even better if someone of stature in this community, perhaps moderators of this site, would create a 'league' or coalition where server hosts would sign and pledge to ban/boot worthless scum like that forever....something Multi-Players Against Racism or whatever. It was a few years ago that I did a lot of on-line racing and cheating was rampant. The formation of a signature list and such against cheaters was very successful.

I work in a field where I deal with these types daily, calling/writing to get their 'fix'. Ignoring them is the best medicine although it is VERY difficult. Amazingly enough, I'm sure this idiot and those like him don't even comprehend the cause, events, and outcome of WW2....

The rants of the ethnocentric or nationalistic person is a showcase of the infantile mind.

Racists have problems. There are many other types with problems too, like rapists, child molesters, sociopaths, etc. I have seen players with names and chat in those categories too. Why ban only racists?

Well my reply was not really for or about HIM.

HAD he read my reply he would have seen that I never called him a racist or implied he was one. I simply stated that his defense of racists and his positon that they should be allowed to believe anything they want and racist server managers should be able to run their servers like they do was in fact weak in its argument and stupid on the over-all.

It was not really aimed at him per se as much as THEM. His opinion of "live and let live" regarding racists and their rhetoric is clearly misguided and based on ignorance, as it implies that it stops at "belief" and causes no real harm in the world.

This is too bad. In either case, racist or misguided idiot tolerating xenophobia, it has caused most of the avoidable suffering in the world. Kids using such crap for fun or to sound cool or tough just plants the seeds that it is ok

When it most certainly is not.

That being said one must be careful of who they stand against based on something being offensive. But I am all for Admins taking the lead and asking people to change nicknames that are blatantly offensive - that goes for the stupid gross sex names and all that stuff, and kicking them when they do not comply. When it comes to names that clearly profess a biggoted slant I would just kick them outright.

Admins can do as they wish, obviously. But I would like to know which ones are run by racists, etc. so I can avoid them and warn others about them.

By the way, I encounter more overtly bigoted non-whites as I do whites on a typical daily basis, even if they assume they are just reacting to white bigotry. So it has nothing with them or me being white or black or Jewish or Martian. To me the "they did it first" does not justify the reverse bigotry. It is ALL stupid, and should be worked against; not just ignored or tolerated as relatively harmless. It ain't.
