My cat
My mom took my cat to the vet the other day to have a lump on her back examined. She has a tumor right on the spine. They're going to operate today but it doesnt look promising, and Im stuck here a continenty away hearing about it all over the phone. I had a great cat with more personality than most people at MUOhio.

That sucks, man. Hopefully everything turns out ok.
...and guys, please don't ruin this thread with the typical DIE COMA-type responses. I'm getting tired of reading that bullshit. |
poor cat. I went home for a day this summer and was looking around and couldnt find any of my rabbits I have had since I was young. I finally asked and my parents and brother said "they died like 2 months ago" I flipped my shit. At least be happy you are being updated about this.

Cats should be outdoor/indoor though...I think the cat's life is wasted if it is only spent inside...and cats don't need leashes and you don't have to pick up their shit. |

Anyway, just got an update. The surgery seemed to go well, she is still very groggy. They had to shave most of her back, from her ears to her tail, basically. The doc thinks theres a 10-15% chance of the tumor coming back. That happens, she has to be put down |
knowing coma, he probably yanking all your chains, and you guys are fallinf for it.

Either way...Cats > Dogs. |
I used to be a huge cat hater, but I've softened my view in my old age. I still prefer dogs...especially mine.

I just like the goofiness of a nice dog. Coop is genuinely glad to see me when I get home from work. He loses his fucking mind...heh heh. A cat wouldn't give a shit unless it wanted something.
That's cool for some people, but not me. |

My dogs will wait by the windows all day for the family until we ALL come home. Then when each person shows up they greet us at the door and there basically shaking they are so happy we are back.

Some breeds of cat are like that. Some breeds of cat you can actually train to do simple commands like a dog, sit, stay, retrieve etc - I've read about plenty of cats that you can walk, and that love to play fetch!
Burmese are known for their dog-like playful and loyal tendencies, they develop strong bonds with their owners. My cat Casper (r.i.p) would sprint towards me and jump into my arms when I'd be coming home and he'd see me walking down our driveway...Burmese cats are the fucking shit. My family miss the company so much that we're getting a brother and sister pair of burmese cats soon. I used to be a dog person, until I owned a pure breed cat. Theres so many interesting breeds that I never even considered when I thought about the nature of cats. I still like dogs though, but I prefer the company of a friendly cat. |
Cats dont smell. Dogs usually have some kind of aroma to them. Cats tend to be cleaner, too.
Also, if you get a cat with great personality, like mine, then its a really special thing. My is a real slut, it loves men who visit, but really hates chicks. LIke to the point of being scary. She waits by the door when we're gone. When we come home, she just follows one of us around and purrs. A great cat. |

I prefer tabby cats...
...my dog loves guys and hates chicks... well...shes fine with adults...but any little girl...or like teenage girl...it hates...only time I usually see it bark...I think it's hilarious though. |
I like cats a bit more because they arent as clumsy and reckless as dogs. i dont have to worry about my cat chewing up my shoes, dvds, toys etc. my cat can climb on the table and dressser w/o knocking everything over and since cats are smaller, you dont really notice them much for them to get on your nerves. they arent as loud as dogs and are more independent so they dont bug you every couple of seconds for attention.
