Got it off torrent, it sucks.

Battlefield 2 with worse graphics, sounds and in a sci-fi package. If you sink $50 into this game just kill yourself.

I admit tonight I'm downloading it for comedic value but I just wanna press cancel to be honest...

I've been reading some of the posts on the total2142.com forums and they say theres alot of problems with it, slow running, weak weapons, server disconnects, poor maps....


I've always said I'd never buy 2142 after the shit EA pull and this demo confirms it dance:

I think they said early next year for a release, seems a long way away now that this stinkin sack of 2142 shit will be lurking until then annoy:

lol after takin a bit to log in with a new account I can't even finish changing my settings, controls, etc because I get LOGGED OUT OF THE FUCKIN OPTIONS MENU, NEVERMIND THE DAMN GAME.

Aye. Shame theres no grenades or mines you can lay or do anything to kill mechs really until they unlock stuff. They must've fixed the disconnects for now and I played for a coupla hours so far.

My opinion:

*no unlocks are shite
*default weapons are weak as hell
*you run so slow the ground feels like treacle
*weapons seem to spray all over the place even when tryin to pinpoint
*the same annoyances with bf2 tbh
*when you're on the titan it lags like a bitch
*the AT weapon seems crap, goes all over the place and does little damage
*sniper rifle only has one zoom, I prefer 2 tbh, aint used it much tho
*obviously all the kids run to the mechs asap
*the demo map is boring as hell and poorly designed
*might be me but seems a little too dark too

Of course whatever we say about it, EA will say 'OHH BUT ITZ ONLI A DEMOO IT WILLL B AMAZIN MUCH BETTA 4 RETAIL WE PROMIS'

Yup, the unlock system is pretty dumb, you start of pretty weak in this game, no shock paddles to revive teammates, no nades no c4 or anything. Hovertanks also a piece of shit, if you spend much time driving the regular eu tiger tank then switch sides and start using that its a huge pain in the ass.

The anti tank missile is pretty strange as well, it looks and sounds pretty weak and really doesn't sem to have much feedback to it when you do use it. spank:

There is no fixed server side, they reccomend 24-32 but theres no cap on the player amount, so if you have aserver capable of 64 players then you it can run 64 players.

Looks cool as fuck, I havent played any videogames in forever, but we just one-upped our internet service so I might get it, maybe, possibly, probably not in all honesty, but maybe.

I dled but when i try to play it says its missing a component, and reinstalling might help but it doesnt. Anyone have this problem or know what to do?

If you get a problem saying "Failed to start because d3dx9_29.dll was not found" then go to this site

download the 2nd one down the list, the '29 one and it'll fix the problem.
