Any team that beats the Yanks is a friend of mine.

I was pulling for le Tigras not only because they were facing the Stankees but because of the historical value. I like seeing teams that haven't been there in awhile get into the playoffs. Adds variety.

9mm BeRetTa 10-07-2006 06:14 PM

A little excessive on the celebration, you'd think they just won the World Series.

Good game though.

truth, that was for the fans, we got robbed from celebrating the divison title, they wanted to give it to us and they shit the bed.

your team sucks dick for 19 years, hasnt had a winning season in 13 years, and tied for the worst record EVAR 43-119 3 years ago it gets pent up.

plus you knock off the yanks thats a bonus

Nyck 10-08-2006 10:05 AM

Just like what the pistons did to the super team Lakers

HOF Coach quits and they trade away their best player

Airborne Butters 10-08-2006 10:18 AM

There was a lot of "WTF" in this series. A-Rod as usual couldn't get his bat off his shoulders and would barely make an effort for a play. Kenny Rogers coming out of nowhere, from having the worst record against the Yanks, to to just beating them. Jeter was the only one who was hot this post season. Damon was good too. Matsui was starting to pick it up, but couldn't get it going.

Next season the Yanks just need to focus on pitching really. Got the offense and a stable and steady defense, just need to get really good pitchers. The Yankees have some of the best scouts in the league. I personally hope A-Rod trades out because that'll free up a good amount of money for finding better pitchers.

Sgt. Paine 10-08-2006 10:20 AM

Torree was a great coach, I dont hope people see this season or the last season as a reflection of the manager he was in the 90's

Chronic Diarrhea 10-08-2006 10:37 AM

Yeah butters, it's always, ALWAYS the pitching. You can have the best lineup in the league, but if you have the type of pitching NYY has (which is a rotation that is very inconsistent and has some huge gaps in it) then you're never going to be one of the best. You can't get away with that in the post season.

Look at the Texas Rangers (my team, yes I know I should slit my cock now). They have a great lineup, with 3-5 young great ballplayers that can hit and get enough runs per game to be a great team. Problem is, their pitching is incredibly young and, while showing some potential, just doesn't have that experience to be a great or even a good rotation.

Airborne Butters 10-08-2006 12:13 PM

Yanks had a great team when they had Wells,Petite and Clemens pitching. Like I was saying though, Yanks have some REALLY good scouts and their main focus this off season should be finding some good, young pitchers. Probally end up finding em in the ass corner of the world.

Pyro 10-08-2006 04:14 PM

Also goodbye Torre, hello Lou Panella

yankees need pitching liek whoa. They always have.

TonyMontana 10-08-2006 08:04 PM

Yankees managerial job = retard job. seriously, anyone can write up a lineup each night full of all-stars

Simo Häyhä 10-08-2006 08:19 PM

ps- why fire torre? Stop being a bitch steinbrenner annoy:

Well Torre makes decisions on who they should go after. And going after old hasbeen pitches needs to be over for the yankees. The reason they have Randy Johnson and all those old guys is because no one fucking wants them because they suck now.

Sgt. Paine 10-08-2006 10:28 PM

yea young pitchers to Steinbrunner and Cashmen is like a 38 year old johnson.

Sgt>Stackem 10-09-2006 06:36 AM

it was good to see them let the fans join in on the celebration but it was excessive. I like when a NHL team wins the Presidents trophy. They kinda look at it and say "yes, thats nice but we want the cup" and skate off

well we are used to seeing the wings win it every 2 years..

this had been 19 years of futility and it was a make up of sorts for robbing the fans of celebrating a divison title.
