ok, i will start off by saying this has NOTHING to do with straightedge AT ALL. leave it out.

So I was talking to my best friend from home, she goes to a different college than me. She said how her best friend there was kicked out of college because he was caught with a pound of pot. I just acted negative towards him because i am not a fan of drug dealers. She called me a judgmental asshole and refuses to talk to me now. She twisted it into how I dont know him as a person and how I'm not better than him, when I said nor implied anything of the sort. I just kinda was going at saying he did it to himself. So am I an ass for doing this...

People buy pounds all the times with their buddies, as usually you can get more weed for less money by buying in bulk.

Thing is, the dealers who deal pounds usually only deal to people they trust, so you have to give all your money to one guy to go get it and bring it back. It wouldn't have surprised me if this guy was just coming back from such a deal and got caught since it's harder to move a pound, than say a gram. Happens all the time.

This kid is stupid (unless he was drivi ng back from getting it, then its just bad luck), but he's no criminal.

Its not as if he was dealing drugs to kids, or dealing something brutally addictive that would ruin peoples lives, like heroin or crack. He's no death merchant.

People at liquor stores, and tobacco companies have more crimes against humanity to answer for than pot dealers.

Not necessarily. If you had it all weighed out and had a bunch of little baggies and a scale, that's intent. If you had locked in a safe or somewhere hidden in a big bag with just a pipe you can probably get away with it being personal, either way it's not good.

Either way theres a point in life where you have to tell your self you need to stop because its ILLEGAL. If he is in the ROTC and had a lot riding on being in college (IE his parents aren't rich and cant just throw him in another college with their money) than he basically just fucked himself.

Its not like drinking alcohol. Im sure though if he got caught with a shit load of alcohol and he was drunk he would be kicked out of school to. My friend was a huge coke head back in high school, he is now in the Marines, he still wants to do coke once in a while but he doest, because he knows the consequences. Its the same thing dude.

It's a morality issue. Maybe he sees it unjust to be prosecuted for posessing a dead flower. We wouldnt have america today if we didn't stand up for our basic morals.. What the kid does in his evenings should be his business.
