and #2 in the nation is...

Florida!!!!

http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/6233 ... CP&GT18901

I could care less for OSU, Mich, and Florida. But for someone who will be watching the game, I'd rather see a rematch of Ohio State/Michigan. Florida arguably deserved it though, seeing as how they had the nations toughest schedule and they hadn't faced the #1 team in the nation yet. (Michigan had the #3 schedule but they lost to OSU)

No that's not gay. You can't lose your way into the Championship Game.

Big 12 champion Oklahoma will meet unbeaten Boise State in the Tostitos Fiesta on Jan. 1.

Ironically, Oklahoma has an easier opponent than Nebraska.

The system is impeccable. oOo:

[DAS REICH] Blitz 12-03-2006 09:29 PM

when does BCS expire again? isn't it like in a year or two?

Hawke 12-03-2006 09:33 PM

BCS is terrible. Michigan is a much better team then Florida. It's crazy how Michigan doesn't lose yet still drops twice after the OSU vs. Michigan game.

well I can see the arguement for both sides. I think all of you know who I wanted to be #2, Michigan got hosed but I am proud that they (The Michigan coaches and staff) didnt campain for the 2nd spot. I think it is classless to cry for a slot. It looks like whining can get you to #2. Florida is a good team but IMHO Michigan has a better chance of winning against OSU. All the team can do is go out and win the Rose Bowl, no sense cryibg over spilled milk.

LOL, a MUCH easier opponent. I hate Chokelahoma for all they're worth, but I will be pulling for them in the Fiesta Bowl to beat the fucking shit out of that faggot team from Idaho.

Why isn't this in the college football thread...? eek:

[DAS REICH] Blitz 12-04-2006 11:33 AM

ya, stupid idiot who created this thread must have forgotten rolleyes:

c312 12-04-2006 12:02 PM

I don't think you can say that Michigan is a better team than Florida. The only way you could really say that is after a game between the two.

It comes down to two things for me:
-Florida has beaten better teams than Michigan
-Florida is the champion of their conference (arguably the best conference) and Michigan is not.

Pyro 12-04-2006 12:07 PM

Florida deserved it more than Michigan

Michigan will never see the big game again.

[DAS REICH] Blitz 12-04-2006 12:08 PM

My idea to fix the BCS and all it's problems...

Take the top two teams from every BCS conference (eventually this will change if the shittier conferences want to have recognition). That's 16 teams. You know what you have with 16 teams? An enjoyable tournament....

All the non-playoff teams can be in those shitty Humanitarian and Insight.com bowls. And for the top bowls (fiesta, orange, etc.), those can switch off in the championship game every year, while the other three can be like final four bowls or something (i don't know what will happen with the odd bowl out).

while Fla did have the #1 hardest schedule, Michigan had the #3. They did have one common opponent though. It was Vanderbilt, Fla won 25 to 19 while Michigan won 27 to 7

Fla will get thier asses handed to them

Michigan is not the Big Ten champs only because the #1 team in the nation is in the same conference

and with each team having one loss, it comes down to strength of schedule, which Florida won.

Bringing up a common team and deriving something from the scores they put up is nonsense. Everyone knows that sports don't follow logical, mathematical properties, it means nothing. I'm an unbiased person, I wanted Michigan to go at first, but by the end of the season, I think Florida deserves it more and I think it will be a very exciting game. I wouldn't be so sure of Florida getting their asses handed to them either...

As a Nebraska fan I root for Oklahoma every game they aren't playing the Huskers. I love seeing both teams doing well. Maybe it's my way of holding on to my beloved power option. :(

Just out of curiosity, why do you hate Oklahoma?

is it nonsense because its not relevent to the discussion or because it doesnt back up your arguement?

I hate Oklahoma because they were too good for too long (similar to Miami and USC). I like surprises, not teams that go into the season #1 and usually end the regular season #1. A playoff would stop that...

I dont understand all these fucking bowls.

Where does the Peach/ Chick Fil A bowl stand in this?

Also why does VA Tech only play 12 games and not 13?

Cpt. Obvious 12-04-2006 07:49 PM

On to the gator bowl for us. I dont know that much about Georgia Tech. I know Calvin Johnson is probably the best reciever in the nation but Reggie Ball has been struggling to get him the ball. Hey Milla when is VaTech going to agree to play us again?

Milla 12-04-2006 07:52 PM

I have no clue dude. I didnt know they can just make games up like that?

Would be awesome to see them play each other again.

it would of been nice to see W.VA vs VA Tech rather than Va Tech vs Georgia...wtf is that about, an 8-4 team

We had a contact to play you guys two years after you left the Big East. Then VaTech chose to not renew it. Also Maryland chose not to play us from 2008-2010 so we will have room for it. Also VaTech should have room because I think they are gonna have a whole in their schedule from 2008-10.

Milla 12-04-2006 08:03 PM

Than we shall see what happens, it would be cool.

come on stackem, all sports fans know that just because one team beats the same team by more points it doesn't mean they are better. You can't take that as any solid evidence. (this might be different if it was a 1 point vs. 40 point difference)

That's the type of logic that I could use to say that because the Redskins beat the Cowboys, and the Cowboys beat the Giants, therefore the Redskins are better than the Giants...but we know that's not true, because the Giants beat the Redskins. What I'm saying is that logic doesn't apply in sports, especially college sports, there are too many intangibles.
