xbox 360

I have a chance to get the one with the HD, wireless controller and headset for $300 (New, in box) from a friend, so I have a couple questions...

1. Are the graphics going to be good even though I don't have (and won't get for a while) an HD TV?

2. Is the Xbox Live feature as good as a playing PC games online? Multiplayer is my main motivation for buying games now.

Ferich 12-13-2006 05:27 PM

What do you mean as good as playing PC Games online? You don't get a keyboard and a mouse if that's what you're asking. I've had bad experiences playing PC Games online since there's shitty games just like with a console. I hear Xbox live is good stuff at any rate.

9mm BeRetTa 12-13-2006 05:37 PM

Haha, yea I'm aware there is no keyboard and mouse.

I guess a better question is are there good multiplayer games for the 360, or are they mostly single player??

The only system I have is ps2 and basically all of those games were geared towards single player or 2 players with an addtional controller.

and yes, the graphics still are great even on a non-hd tv.

even if you dont have an hdtv, just get the VGA HD AV Cable and plug it into your monitor.

guarnere 12-13-2006 07:23 PM

Rainbow Six Vegas makes me semenate.

My weapons of choice...

Shield + Pistol -- Co-Op...pwnage.

Pyro 12-13-2006 08:25 PM

Rainbow Six, vegas is fucking wicked...loved that shit online...

anyways...ya graphics are still good...but HDTV totally makes it better...

but really...if you don't think about comparing the two...you won't even care...i didn't until i saw on one tv the difference when using HDTV and the other...but if you never change in your house you won't care.

Tripper 12-13-2006 10:30 PM

Yeah I run mine on a poopy little 14inch regular tv - Still looks fucking beautiful.

...and in terms of lag online - Well, so far its non-existant. I've only heard american voices on xbox live as well - Which means its ridiculously good, because on PC I'd lag the fuck out on aussie/nz servers and if I tried on american servers it would barely be playable. Its great. I recommend this system.
COD 3 multi is pwnage....

Let's just say the main reason I bought my 360 was for online gaming.

Proteus 12-14-2006 08:25 AM

The games took a while but they're finally coming around. Along with the recent menu updates and the camera it's just fun to use. The camera can do a lot more than I expected it to do. I bought one initially for Halo 3, I didn't expect many more huge games, but they have a few now. And the multiplayer is a breeze, as usual for XBL.

9mm BeRetTa 12-14-2006 10:20 AM

Thanks for the responses, sounds like a good system.

i would never support Xbox Live, since i think paying for online use will be the downfall of gaming (as with why i don't want to play WoW among other things)

360 ftw. Awesome system I mgetting a 22 inch wide screen gateway monitor with component plugs on it to hook up to my 360 and PC.

Crazy Canadian 12-15-2006 05:39 PM

dude, 3523 points how many games do you have

Milla 12-15-2006 07:08 PM

9 i think?

You know you get multiple points in each game, some are worth 20 points, some are worth 100 points. I know some people with 5,000 +, i think i dont have enough points.

Proteus 12-15-2006 08:06 PM

It's pretty easy to get 3g, you just have to play a few games consistently. I know a loser that had over 16g. He dropped out of high school because of Oblivion.

Coleman 12-16-2006 02:12 AM

the HD movie download service is really a sweet idea. IF you have a 720dpi HDTV it's great to have. The 1080dpi calls for one to buy the $200 HDDVD drive for it, which is still an amazing offer.

I really do think that Microsoft did a great job with their product.

Milla 12-16-2006 01:28 PM

But the 360 needs a bigger hard drive if you plan on DLing movies to it. 20 gigs is gonna disappear really fast.

http://www.gadgetreview.com/2006/04/unl ... x-360.html

That would be brilliant

Mr.Buttocks 12-16-2006 01:40 PM

Download this movie to your Xbox guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvbL_5rH1QQ&eurl=

Gonzo 12-16-2006 03:11 PM

the movies you download you dont keep its like renting movies so after 2 weeks i belive they get deleted.

right, but it's really convenient to use rather than traveling to Blockbuster or something. I'm not even sure how much HD-DVD's or BlueRay DVD's cost to rent. ANyone know?
