Well, i just checked emails and saw the email sent by rudedog - cool that the site is still up.

Anyways, anyone ready for airborne? I really can't wait for it to come out

descry 02-07-2007 11:13 AM

Tripper 02-07-2007 11:19 AM

Im keen to see what it will play like - Mind you, i'll be playing it on my 360 - Not PC...

mR.cLeAn 02-07-2007 11:29 AM

Chronic Diarrhea 02-07-2007 11:36 AM

I do, CoH is an incredible game. And some of the screenshots/movies I have seen of the PC version of MOH: Airborne looks pretty awesome. But like Coub said, nothing ever compared to the MOHAA MP.

Jakke 02-07-2007 03:08 PM

wtf, GF1 back oOo:

rudedog 02-07-2007 04:33 PM

OH, here is what we know so far about airborne

Blackhat from EA has been listening to the community about what went wrong in the past, they are taking their time and listening. I had one of my moderators head out to EA for an early preview and things look promising.

Now Vanguard is the Wii\xbox\ps2 version and for what it's worth looks good. I should be heading out to EA at the end of Feb to check out vanguard ( a first for me the PC guy).

couple of other interesting EA things,

1) Spent some quality time on the phone with the dev team working on the MP side of things for MOH:A, We spent over an hour and a half going over things in regards to what admins and clients want/need in a MP game.

2) I setup an old school MOHAA server so the EA devs could play some old school MOH players from TMT/FPSadmin. This was to give the EA guys a feeling of how frustrated it was for us to admin a server and how fun AA is.

Not only did the EA guys have fun, they took tons of notes, recommendations and ideas from this MP session.

They are trying and we should be seeing more info tomorrow with a couple airdrops being released.

Whatada 02-07-2007 05:46 PM

Sorry, I'm trying to get used to an admin here that posts here on a regular basis.

Milla 02-07-2007 06:05 PM

You guys are fucking homos with your ww2 shit.

Get CoD4, set in Iraq and we shall own arabs

[quote:62546]* While most shooters have two or three critical points on the head, Call of Duty 4 has 16. You can shoot the side of an opponent’s helmet to make it spin on their head, or knock the helmet clean off. Supposedly you will even be able to shoot an enemy’s ear off.[/quote:62546]

fucking lol i want to shoot someones ear off

mR.cLeAn 02-07-2007 06:36 PM

wow idk about making the games more violent.

I saw a special on Airborne a while back, and they were talking about making sure the game has a realistic look, but making sure to not make it too realistic. Do you seriously want the games to be more bloody and horific? With current technology games simply will get more and more relalistic, but that also means that designers should have a code of ethics to not fuck up with someones mind and see for hrs upon hrs people getting headshots. If you want to see something like that, go to 1 of the many sites that show that shit. Plus I think something like that could damage some younger viewers mentally, and like I said, w/ technology is going to be even more realistic.

No offence maybe I'm f-ed up for still playing these games, but there is a level when it starts getting too real.

Anyways, all I've heard is good news of the game. But that is simply cause I read the reviews that were linked to the airborne website, I'm sure someone wrote a review that sais otherwise. Well I still have a clan for MoH:AA and we have servers, but every day mohaa keeps loosing its MP community, well it should to an extent - it is pretty old now. Anyways I WILL be getting servers for the game, it seems like a fresh new start for my clan. specially staying with the medal of honor series

Milla 02-07-2007 07:05 PM

You fucking hippy, lol

Thats why parents need to regulate the games their children play and parental lock them (all games with blood have parental lock features that turn this off).

More realistic games are just that, more realistic, i dont know about you but i want a realistic experience, not just a puff of dust MOH style, or a puff of red dust CoD style.

If i see someone ingame get hit with arty, a 155 mm shell, their isnt going to be much left of him. You just see a limp body go flying...I mean i want to see limbs and things like that. Maybe I'm a sick fuck, but i like my realism.

Simo Häyhä 02-07-2007 07:35 PM

more violent games = better

stfu

You're not a sickfuck, I agree with you - Mr Clean is just being a grandma. They should just enforce the ratings on games. Retarded parents are going out buying these R18 games for their kids without thinking, because "games" are traditionally for kids so they just assume that it wont have anything too graphic/real.
They need to come to terms with the idea that gaming is now also for adults, seeing as the people who have grown up with video games are now of age.

Milla 02-07-2007 07:40 PM

Agreed, in fact i think the adult gaming market is MUCH larger than the children's gaming market. I'd like to see more "rated R" games with actual gore and not like i said before, just limp bodies flying after getting hit with artillery CoD style, than the bodies lay there for a min and disappear.

MadMan 02-07-2007 08:37 PM

as long as said game has quality to it, and not just a body throwing physics adventure, oOo:
fallout comes to mind, about the body flying that is, not soo much dismemberment.

Good point but reading about dismemberment in games made me lol.
Especially in MP

All I could think of was Monty Pythons Holy Grail and the black knight!

lol

rudedog 02-08-2007 06:16 AM

The true fact is EA and all the rest of the larger game companies want to sell games.

They can't sell anything over M in Walmart and that's the bottom line. Do I agree with it, no. Do I buy my games at Walmart, not that I remember.

However I like my dismemberment and blood and the use of appropriate language in a game, I guess it's called ambiance. However we are probably not going to see this because, they want the largest shelf space on the market and that means selling it in walmart.

does that mean we get a lesser game not necessarily. EA is working on making sure the modders can give us what they can not.

So far it sounds awesome, but MOHPA sounded awesome and we all know where that went.

Another big thing is THEY HAVE TO RELEASE A MP/SP DEMO BEFORE IT HITS THE STORE SHELFTS. So we can determine how the game is before release.

mR.cLeAn 02-08-2007 09:48 AM

do you have any clue on release date, cause around october it was gona be december, in december it was gona be january - now we are in february and I hear 2nd quarter which could be march.

lol, that one answer about gore back fired on me, i was just trying to sound knoledgeable and it made me sound like a pussy.

Well, what we need is a release date, cause CoD franchise is busting them games like crazy ... plus I look at it in more of an admin way cause I want to host some servers and games like BF2 and BF2142 are hella expensive

descry 02-08-2007 11:01 AM

v47

Milla 02-08-2007 01:27 PM

MOH:PA was a huge dissapointment, i was hoping it would be really awesome, but it was your typical run and gun by yourself with no squadwork.

Brothers in Arms tried with the squad work, but it ended up getting to repetitive, fire, flank, suppression fire, flank, suppression fire, flank..etc. It was a good game, atleast your teammates helped, but it got to repetitive.

mR.cLeAn 02-08-2007 07:10 PM

rudedog, do you have a release date for airborne?

rudedog 02-08-2007 08:57 PM

sorry for the delay guys, I'm currently on the road on business.

Sorry but I don't have any info on a release date. I know Blackhat is working hard on getting more info released. with that said, a new "air drop" was released today:

Feb. 08, 2007
The Cinematic Look of Airborne - Part 1

Finding a Visual Language - For Medal of Honor Airborne, developers are
not only trying to bring new gameplay to the genre, but also to bring a
new look to WWII and the Medal of Honor franchise. Artists on Airborne
are once again establishing a strong visual identity within the WWII
genre by reminding people of their favorite cinematic experiences, but
also striving to keep players as visually excited by Airborne as the
developers get by some of their favorite games in various genres.

One of the most important aspects of WWII is that it was a legendary
time, and there was something very reverential about the 1940's. It
takes us back to a time when the world really was about "Heroes versus
Villains." Designers on Airborne explored the actual visual icons of the
era through several mediums. What they're crafting is a stylized
realism. It's not about achieving an absolute, 100% photorealism, but
instead it's about trying to create an iconic look out of what
"photoreal" is. Artists are fashioning a legendary, epic feel out of the
very natural environments. In Part 1 of our exploration of the cinematic
look of Medal of Honor Airborne, Art Director Justin Thomas elaborates
on how the Airborne art team is creating atmosphere in a virtual world.

As soon as I hear anything regarding a firm release date, I will post it here ASAP!
