NFL Draft

Your thoughts?

I was really pissed that Philly traded their 1st round 26th pick to Dallas. Ugh, that made me really angry. Atleast they picked up Tony Hunt later on to back up Westbrooke.

I was laughing sooooooooo hard when Quinn wasn't being picked. They had the camera on his face during the first 10 or so picks bc i guess they were expecting him to go then. It was hilarious to see him just sit there pick after pick. I always thought he was overrated and wasn't that good.

Sgt. Paine 04-29-2007 09:01 AM

yeah i roffled when the browns didnt take him #1.

I think the giants made good choices so far taking a CB because they desperately needed one, and a WR and a DT i think?

Is Paul Poslusky (SP) from PSU still on the market? if the giants dont get him im gonna be pissed its the future Lawrence Taylor.

Nyck 04-29-2007 09:28 AM

randy moss traded to the new england patriots

lions trade josh mckown and mike williams for a 4th round pick wtf?

Lions got a playmaker in calvin johnson

my buddy and I were cracking up that the espn dudes were cumming all over quinn, the fact that every pick they would make an excuse as to why that team should pick him and that they put him in a private room to wait because he was the last guy in the vip waiting room.

Chronic Diarrhea 04-29-2007 09:36 AM

Yep Quinn was acting like such a pussy. You could clearly see him saying, "What?" a few times. Also his girlfriend looked like a tramp. He may turn out to be a decent QB, but he is definitely overrated. I never thought he was a top 5 caliber pick.

So far I'd say Atlanta is having the best draft. They have three guys who will probably start this season, and not because Atlanta sucks dick (they do), but the players they drafted are quality guys.

If New Orleans can lock down some steals on defense today in the draft, New Orleans may have the best draft this year. Meachem was a great pick, and their offense is fucking loaded now. They need to focus on LBs and DLs. They've got a very good safety in Roman Harper (was well on his way to contending for rookie of the year before he tore his ACL).

Detroit has a good chance to finally put together a consistent offense with Calvin Johnson. CJ is as fast, strong, and physical as Roy Williams, but he's 30 lbs bigger and can jump 3 feet higher. They will be the best WR duo in the league before too long.

Nyck 04-29-2007 09:41 AM

the lions will suck the dick again and have a top 3 pick next year to build on.

2002 #3 pick Joey Harrington - run out of town, now a back up in ATL
2003 #2 pick Charles Rogers - Released, 2 broken collarbones and Weed Suspension - no current team
2004 #7 roy williams - best player on team will probably be pissed now that Johnson is there
2005 #10 Mike williams- traded with a qb for a 4th round pick never had a chance on the team cause he was fat and slow.(shawn merriman picked 2 spots later)

[DAS REICH] Blitz 04-29-2007 10:01 AM

Why did the Raiders trade Randy Moss? If they knew all along they were going to trade him, then they should of taken Calvin Johnson. I thought they took JaMarcus (who I doubt will turn out to be good) because they were going to have Randy Moss still on the team, alongside Mike Williams and Jerry Porter. Now this makes no sense.

ah fuck i just saw the giants took Zak DeOssie or something from Brown. 2x all american if i read it right. I guess hes the next best thing.

Coleman 04-29-2007 10:31 AM

yeah i thought New England or The Giants were going to get Puz. This year had a bunch of surprises.
GO BILLS[/quote:fdb51]

lets hope Marshawn Lynch helps, letting go of macghee was tough

Lynch was sweet as hell in the game I saw himin.

c312 04-29-2007 02:01 PM

I don't think Poz is as awesome as some people think. I'm a PSU fan and I love Poz, but he's not going to be the second coming of LT.

And I don't think Zak DeOssie is the next best thing, sure, he looked good but he played Ivy League. We'll see.

Chronic Diarrhea 04-29-2007 02:40 PM
Is Paul Poslusky....its the future Lawrence Taylor.[/quote:667e1]

ROFL give me a break. He's good, but he has nowhere near the level of strength that LT had. LT single-handedly changed the way defenses use linebackers, and changed the way offensive linemen had or arrange their blocking schemes. There' very, very few players in the history of the NFL that had as big of an impact on the game as LT. He's up there with Jerry Rice in terms of superstar status. Bo Jackson would have achieved the same level had he not gotten injured. If anybody has any shot at being the next LT, it's Sergio Kindle. He cuts people down the same way LT did.

Sgt. Paine 04-29-2007 03:09 PM

ok so i exaggerated and you are going to hold me to it? I know what LT has done, and i marvel at it. I have been to every home game the giants have had the past 5 years.

LT is the only LT ever, fuck Tomlinson.

Coleman 04-29-2007 03:14 PM

If the Eagles picked up Posluszny it would have been a NASTY duo with him and Trotter...shit, and if Javon Kearse was busting thing up on DE...nice defensive scheme if you ask me.

your a lions fan nyck!? stupid:

that sucks that we (green bay) allowed moss to get away. Damn i hate the gm up there man. He also allowed our pick last yr to be traded to guess who... new england which wouldve allowed us to get chad jackson wr. Moss expressed interest in either green bay or new england and we let him go... damn us for that

the Detroit Lions do have the last pick in this years draft ed:

Short Hand 04-29-2007 04:03 PM

Quinn just needs to learn how to adjust to pressure. Makes some great moves in games and such. He could be another great like both the big M's from Notre Dame's past. ; )

And they actually just drafted a potentially good pro player too.

No. biggrin:

I just thought the statement was absurd. And yes, Tomlinson is a beast, but he still doesn't have the same type of impact on the game as Taylor did.

Pyro 04-29-2007 05:00 PM

Lions will never have a winning team again...

I think we did good with Running back Marshawn Lynch and Dwayne Wright and linebacker Paul Posluszny. Trent Edwards was a pretty good value pick. Everyone looks healthy and I think we will pull out more Ws than Ls this year rock:

ps- Lions suck dix

TonyMontana 04-29-2007 09:53 PM

Ted Ginn Jr. ftw...Goddamnit I don't know why Miami picked him in the first round...they REALLY need help on the offensive line.

When the Carolina Panthers drafted Southern California receiver Dwayne Jarrett in the second round Saturday, Keyshawn Johnson was ecstatic.

"This is a great pick. We need another wide receiver," Johnson gushed while working as a draft analyst for ESPN. "This guy is much like me. I'm going to teach him how to play from the point of attack."

He won't get the chance.

The Panthers deemed their older former USC receiver was expendable Tuesday. Johnson, the 6-foot-4 possession receiver and 1996 No. 1 overall pick, was released to make way for a younger 6-foot-4 possession receiver taken with the 45th pick.

lol.

Yeah....I mean I would have liked to keep him, but it makes sense to not have him around....no salary bonus. We also have Steve Smith, Drew Carter, Keary Colbert(he is MIA though)Taye Biddle and now Jarret.
