No need to log in to IRC or download any crap, just register & bamo. It would also have easy access as it would be right here on the fps page. More importantly, it would mean I could chat to you punks whilst I was still at work. the_finger:

They have these in alot of forums. It shouldn't be too much to ask of Rudedog. I think.

either or it doens't matter to me. One thing is we might get more people the simpler we make it. not everyone knows how to use mirc, and connecting to the right server can be a pain sometimes, so if you made it a one click thing on the main page or something, we might see more people.

I've been wanting to find a new place to hang out since they closed Ridge Runners on MSN Network Gaming Zone... Hopefully it will be put in if we get enough interest & I shall certainly stop by a lot of it is.

Yar I agree it should be a very simple chat. I really like the one on rumration as you don't need to install anything it's just click & go. Gotta make sure it works on my work computers though! biggrin:

I thought it might be a good idea to have a chat room on the FPS forums, one that is easy to access like on the Royal Navy Rumour forums:

The chat room on the Royal Navy forums is very easy to access with nothing to install & can be accessed from either work or home with ease. I thought it would be a great idea to have something like this done in FPS so that anyone browsing the forum could just log in & chat.

I think this would be a great way to bring the FPS community together as it would allow the users to chat to each other in real time & would produce a far more entertaining environment. I realise that some of the users have MIRC, but not everyone can always access it if they are at work. It's also a pain to install & a pain to use the commands. I think a simple & easy to use chat would be far more appropriate.

Please let me know what you think via email or on the thread.

OK, here is what we have.

I have installed flash chat. It looks to be working under IE and FF, will check safari in a bit. if you have any problems, please report them here.

- Sorry but standard bad word filter is on, even the not so bad words for now. I know how you guys like to use big boy words so I will work on that tomorrow :biggrin:

- You will have to register for now, but when I get the final theme for the front page and possibly vB for the forums, I will integrate it with your forum accounts but again that can wait.

- Please let me know how it works. I will be monitoring server load, not that it should be a problem but you never know.

- There seems to be a lot of cool plug ins like radio stations, MP3 players and such. If this becomes popular ( I will be monitoring it over the next couple days ) we can surely implement any of those cool features ( they are paid feature but it's only 5 bucks)

OK, this new feature is now in jeopardy of being shut down.

I've asked nicely for you guys to behave, especially on an open medium like the chat board.

So I'm going through the logs to make sure things are working and to try and see if there are any system spikes when there is more then a couple people in the room at any given time and what do I find?

Someone is using the N word like it's going out of style. We have two problems with that.
1) It should have been filtered, it's on the list?
2) Why the hell would someone act like a fucking 3 year old?

OK, I can kind of see this talk between people that know each other. But when I find someone talking to someone else who is not a regular of the off topic section, that bothers me .... A LOT!

I will be honest, I put up with the dick and gay jokes here in off topic section because I know it's kind of been that way for a while.

Please make a very big effort to control your inner child in the chat room. I find this kind of shit happening again,
1) we loose the chat section
2) pertinent ban from this server's root table


I'm trying to bring AA.com/GF1.com back to life with new features a new front end and soon new forums, I don't need to find shit like this in the logs.

Oh one other thing. You may think it's cool and it's how the interweb works, it's not. Try and use the social network to help build your own personal being to make yourself worth something for a change.
