Hi all !

I'm rather new to FPS-games, and although I have played with Quake and operation flash point, it was always in single player mode.

My first FPS MP game was last week, and it was with MOHAA. I was/am very impressed to see how many skilled players there are !
Each time I die (and I die often ! ... lol ), I can see them playing with the spectator camera while I'm waiting for a new game.
Yes, I'm very impressed.

I am an old RTS-game fan (AOK, Starcraft...) and have always thought that FPS games need no strategy at all ... just run and shoot : games for kidds in a word.
I was wrong.

IMO, although I can't compare the two styles, RTS and FPS (except that they are both games ...), I think that there are A LOT of strategy in FPS games. And its perhaps a little harder : you have to check a 3D situation, ... RTS are often (always?) 2D games - (the action is 2D!)
mmmm... it was just my opinion. A corrected opinion in fact.
Mohaa is a great game, very fun to play.

I disagree: an FPS against computer IS NOT the same thing than an FPS against real ennemies... it's not that the computer can't be good, I think it's because the computer is not programmed to be good (single player campaigns).

i tried mohaa online few days ago and its was the first time for me too on fps... i'm not in quake like usually, mainly on Il2 or Panzer elite, and yes, i was impressed by the others players's skill.... it was on stalingrad map.. great ambience, but too much snipers for me...i don't know if they use a particular tactic... maybe a great dexterity in the use of the weapons (nades/mp) ???

Last night I have played the "bridge map" and Stalingrad on a dedicated server in Finland.
In my games, sniper-weapons were not allowed, and I must admit that it makes the things much more easier for a new player like me. lol.
I hate snipers.... argggh !

Note : Hofner, si tu ne joues pas encore dans un clan, je te souhaite la bienvenu dans le notre. C'est simple et sans prétentions. Nous sommes 3 finlandais de Hämeenlinna. Et on s'eclate pas mal avec ce jeu. Autre avantage : on est nuuuuul, enfin, on va devenir bon, j'en suis certain. Avec le temps...A+

playing multi is very different from SP, you just have to get used to stuff like strafing a lot and learning the ins and outs of each map.

Playing SP does not prepare you for multi becasue the AI will never be anywhere near what it is like to play a human. You have to practice in multi.

they sent me a beta copy of warcraft 3. They had a beta signup on their website, and about 1 in 20 of the people who signed up were selected. Lucky me http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif. I now play only MOH and war 3.
