Holy Speeding tickets
http://www.abcnews.go.com/WN/story?id=3335562&page=1
"Traffic fines in the state are set to rise dramatically, ranging from the $750 fine for driving without a license to the eyebrow raising $1,050 speeding ticket." Fucking sickening. A speeding ticket is now going to ruin somebody's year if they have to pay $1,050. |
tell that to the person who has their life ruined when a family member is killed be cause some dipshit is doing 70 in a 50
|
70 in a 50 is absolutely nothing. The speed limits should be raised with the advancements and in safety and design, they just keep them that low to gain tons of money in taxes because they can't find any other way to legally steal citizens money.

stick to rolling on the floor with dudes. |
whoever thinks a 1500$ fine is bad for speeding, you should see what they do in toronto if they catch anyone racing.
they destroy your car. |

You call that harsh ? Come to Ontario here in Canada. Things have just gotten out of fucking hand in the past 4 months. JUST rediculous.
|
If you don't break the law (like me) you have nothing to worry about.
|
Out of curiosity what are the speed limits on everyone's local highways?
Near me the limits seem to all be around 55mph. |
$1,000 speeding ticket seems ridiculous to me.
I was doing 27kph over on my way to BC and the ticket was $175 Speed limits: Inside city 80kmh/50mph Outside city 110kmh/68mph I have heard Ontario wanted to smash cars of "suspected" racers. That would be BS in my opinion. You need to catch someone doing a crime before you can punish them. The car would need to be illegal or they would need to be caught doing an illegal act. |
i don't care...wherever the speeding limit is 60 here (KM/h) it should be at least 70...even 80...like come on if you can't drive that "fast" you shouldn't even have a license...
|
To destroy somebody's property is cruel and unusual to begin with.
Is anybody else hammered already? |
got busted doing 60mph in a 45mph zone,
cost me $350.00 USD. to pay it, if I had taken Traffic school it would have only been a meer $340.00 oOo: |
How about 350 for a failure to use correct signal in VA?
|
The one experience I have in VA, I was driving through on my way to NC for vacation. We took one highway all the way through (can't remember which one) and we passed at least 30-40 state troopers patroling the road pulling everyone over. I set cruise to 65mph (the speed limit) and moved over to the right lane immediately...and I still got pulled over because I forgot to take down my radar detector.
They were definately out to make some money that day... |
At least we don't have speed cameras like the UK, now they have ones that average out your speed over the distance of a few km, so you cant just slow down for the cameras.
|
highways around here are 45mph min and 65 mph max. Cities usually range from 30-35mph on regular roads through residential areas..dirt rads 25 or less and outside municipal limits (not highway) anything from 40 - 55mph.
I havent had a problem with speeding...yet...many close calls but have gotten lucky. Cops around here like to profile which sucks...but i dont drive anything that screams pull me over |
They may have built safer cars, but the operators are as dumb as ever. Whether they are using a signal AS they merge, or sliding into your 2-second zone of space (because obviously thats why Im not on the car in fronts ass - so that you can merge), or running red lights - they have every intent to kill ya.

slo down ur goin 2 fast, want 2 make this mornin last yeah.

well think of all the crashes and deaths resulting from racing that are making it onto the news lately |
Racing isn't really a big thing by me anyways, I cant say for the states. But the whole system just really pisses me off because the gov't can call it all for safety and to save lives, but the tax and money issue is still really what it's there for, they can just so get away with calling it safety purposes, which is really what it's for, but it isn't at the same time.

Funny though, street racing has been linked to less then 15 deaths since 1999 here in Ontario, DRUNK driving has killed thousands. Yet RIDE programs are dissapearing, and Fantino wants to go all fucking cowboy and buy helicopters. The truth is its this years "shark attacks"... or "killer bee's" issue... nothing more. Ill try and find the link for ya man. |

Build a couple drag strips here in the GTA (since we have none), and BOOM problem basicly solved. |
