Ordering things online

Fuck, it's so annoying. I ordered a new HP TX1220 tablet PC from COMPUSA last sunday night. I chose ground shipping which is the normal shipping method (I chose that because I saw they had 3 different locations that were within 60 miles from me and figured it'd be here pretty quick anyway). The website said that ground shipping orders are processed 1-2 business days.

OK cool. I figured they'd process it on that Monday or Tuesday. I checked my online receipt and it said that the order was still "Open". So by Thursday I fucking called and wanted to know wtf was up. I got held on the phone for 26mins and finally the guy told me that my order would definitely be processed within the next 24hours.

OK great. That means it'd be getting out of their hands by Friday and then get to my house by monday or tuesday at the latest. I'm supposed to leave on tuesday for college and I wanted my freakin PC by then...Is that too much to ask?

Just checked my online status of the order and it's still fucking OPEN! FUCKKKKKKK!!!!!!! :whammy.jpeg

I am calling up Monday to complain to their faces again. I'm going to demand that they give me overnight shipping for free for the huge delay on my order. fucking pricks.

geRV 08-18-2007 09:22 AM

Similar things happen here when ive to deal with a delivery company called citylink, usually the place online are good at geting the order out, just the people that deliver it can be as useful as tits on a bull. I check the status and occasionally it will say some shit like "delivery attempted, point closed and carded".

Which means they attempted delivery and left a card because no-one was in which is absolute bollocks as our dog goes fucking apeshit when a piece of paper blows by let alone someone knocking on the door. Ive yet to receive on of these cards as well. Pisses me the fuck off when i pay for next day delivery and get it 2-3 days later because some delivery guy was too busy rubbing himself elsewhere. cuss:

I ordered a movie from target about 2 weeks ago and got the 3-5 day shipping. still waiting.

Arkan 08-18-2007 01:35 PM

I got fucked once when i ordered a big 1/32 scale slot car race set. Shit never came when promised and when i called to complain, they were going to re-send it until i said (a total lie) "Hey man, it was for my kids birthday tomorrow" They shipped it over night on their dime.

amazon.com is pretty quick with their shipping, i buy from them all the time and they never leave me hanging - just make sure you purchase from them and not a reseller.

coleman that 1-2 business days thing means that they will process your order within that time frame. Since you picked ground that means its going to take another 4-5 days for the actual shipping. Keep in mind that if this falls during a weekend you get screwed because they generally dont count weekends as part of their processing or shipping timetables. If you want something quick, order it on Mon or Tues - Wednesdays cutting it, anything after you may as well wait for the next week.

Yeah, it's been a week and it hasn't even been processed for their shipping. So, it is technically 5 days over for their processing, yet alone shipping time.

LET alone shipping time. biggrin:

call and bitch em out

I ordered 2 new dell laptops for our techs at the office, this was a month ago and they still havent shipped. They have a delay with the glass for the screens so we are just sitting here with our dicks out waiting for them.

Pain in the ass

Coleman 08-19-2007 08:28 AM

fuck, if i knew which PA store it was being shipped from, I'd just fucking drive there myself and pick it up so I don't have to wait at home for another few days.

I remember hearing a story where a guy was waioting for a delivery and it never came, he called them up and was told the driver knocked on the door and knocked on the window before leaving. Ended up the guy lived on the fourth storey of an apartment block, so they pretty much fucked themselves over by saying that. biggrin:

This is why if i can get it from a store without much hasstle, i'll just get it from the damned store. Also, whenever it takes more than a buisness week to process my order, i call and cancel it, then purchase it elsewhere.

I was wondering if anyone has ever ordered from Tiger Direct. If so, how long did it take for your order to get to you? Have you had any problems?

Yes, and they are very dependable. If I remember correctly, you can choose either fed-ex or ups to ship.

Newegg is also very good when it comes to shipping.

do you suggest ups or fed ex?

Madmartagen 08-20-2007 12:56 AM

fedex is quicker depending on which method you use. i think it may be more expensive. they both have tracking and are good for shipping. i know that DHL ships on weekends though. Fedex and UPS generally dont, though unless you pick the Saturday method. They dont ship SUndays though.

yeah, I will do that if the prices are somewhat the same. But if I get it anywhere else, it's $200 more expensive....so...I'm in a shitty situation.

Called the sons of bitches up today. The girl that I talked to was real nice, but their whole system is flawed. Evidentially the guy that said it was going to ship within 24hrs from thursday lied to me. They didn't have any in stock. They just kept taking orders online and ran out of actual products to send. They said there was a shipment scheduled for today. I was able to get 2-day shipping from her for free instead of the ground shipping just for the whole hassle. But I have no idea what I am going to do for leaving dates. Should I go to college on Weds, have someone ship it back to me at school (get it probably weds the next week by everything is done) OR should I wait till I get it...which may be Friday. DECISIONS DECISIONS (i know none of you care about this whole situation)

Let's all just agree and say that fucking online ordering is cheaper, but it comes with a price of high stress and waiting.

Xorcist [USA] 08-20-2007 01:47 PM

I prefer Fed Ex. They seem to deliver quicker than UPS. Also, their tracking is more precise.

Not to mention Airborne Butters beer:

Nyck 08-20-2007 09:49 PM

so one of our Laptops was supposed to ship today...oh look I get an email from dell

you order has been delayed and they pushed the ship date back another week

stupid fucks. They should give a discount or something to try and compensate for the errors in product order placements. If they keep advertising on the site that the item is still in stock ready to go, they should be 100% confident in their advertisement. If not, fucking post it or atleast give you a straight up answer when you call the first time.

They seem to update the location of your delivery more often than UPS.

Just go to school. I don't even order my books until after the first class, which means I typically don't have my books until after an entire week of class. It's never hurt me.

Called the CompUSA fucks again today and they said their order that was supposed to come in yesterday never registered...aka they don't have any PC's. She said she had no idea when anything was going to change.

Nyck, I'm probably going to give the middle finger to CompUSA and go order it with overnight shipping from amazon.com. It's a +$24 dollar difference, but i'd rather pay that dinero now rather than twiddling my thumbs for another week (or even two).

finally fucking got my computer today after I got it from amazon with over night shipping. compusa can suck my left testicle.

I'll do a little review online of it with my camcorder since I couldn't find any good ones on youtube or anything.
