Keep all NFl chatter in here now the season is starting.

lol Eli Manning is out a month separated shoulder...they are fucked. And the Bills player Everett sustained a catastrophic life threatening injury and is more than likely paralyzed, what a shame, i mean it really really is.

On a side note, the Jets fans cheering when Pennington limped off the field when he got injured was BS, not sure they were cheering for him being hurt or Clemens going on the field but i'm ashamed to be a Jets fan after that shit. He didnt even play badly, he came back on an injured foot all wrapped up hobbling and marched down and threw a TD...oh well.

student sections at college games can usually be heard cheering at injured players, sometimes doing the old "shoot him like a horse" chant. is it tasteful? no. but its not that big of deal imo, its not meant to be malicious.

Buffalo Bills reserve tight end Kevin Everett lays on the field after an injury during the second half of the NFL football game against the Denver Broncos at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y., Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007. Everett had surgery Sunday after injuring his spine on a kickoff and there is concern about whether he will be able to walk again.
AP - Sep 10, 11:14 am EDT

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- The Buffalo Bills' Kevin Everett sustained a "catastrophic" and life-threatening spinal-cord injury and his chances of regaining a full range of body motion are very small, an orthopedic surgeon said Monday.

"A best-case scenario is full recovery, but not likely," Dr. Andrew Cappuccino said, one day after performing a four-hour operation on the player. "I believe there will be some permanent neurological paralysis. ... A full neurological recovery was bleak, dismal."

Cappuccino noted the 25-year-old reserve tight end did have touch sensation throughout his body and also showed signs of movement. But he cautioned that Everett's injury remained life-threatening, saying the player is still susceptible to blood clots, infection and breathing failure.

Everett is currently under forced sedation and breathing through a respirator as doctors wait for the swelling to lessen. Cappuccino said it will take up to three days to determine the severity of the injury and the recovery process.

During the operation, Cappuccino repaired a break between the third and fourth vertebrae and also alleviated the pressure on the spinal cord. Doctors made a bone graft and inserted a plate and four screws.

Cappuccino said Everett was alert and is aware of the extent of his injuries.

"I was honest with him, and he told me, 'Do everything you can to help me,"' said Cappuccino, who works for the Bills as a consultant, specializing in spinal surgery.

Cappuccino received permission to operate from Everett's mother, Patricia Dugas, who spoke by phone from her home in Houston.

Everett was hurt in Buffalo's season opener against Denver on Sunday when he ducked his head while driving in to tackle Broncos' Domenik Hixon during the second half-opening kickoff. Everett dropped face first to the ground after his helmet hit Hixon high on the left shoulder and side of the helmet.

Replays showed the player twitching for a few seconds as he attempted to get up before falling back to the ground. Everett's eyes were open but he showed no further signs of movement during the next 15 minutes as the team's medical staff and emergency personnel placed him on a backboard and, with the player's head and body immobilized, loaded him into an ambulance at the Broncos 30.

since when was Pennington hated by the Jets? I thought last year cured that? Unless he's reverting to his good for one season, injured for 3 form again.

I dont know, fans were cheering as he stood up, collapsed, stood up, stumbled and walked off the field limping. The guys on ESPN were saying thats BS and the fans are better than that. I think he played alright for the times he had the ball.

Coles blew it up for me in fantasy though, 2 TD nabs rock:

From what I have been hearing, a lot of teams have done this.

Back before the pats won their first superbowl, they really werent that talented. Yet, they still managed to hang with the likes of the Rams back then. Maybe this is how they did it?

I just think it is going to taint the entire season. Which is unfortunate, but i dont understand why they are still doing this shit with all the talent we have on the team this year.

I like how they interviewed the Patriots players about this...like they have ANY say or care about it happening, they still have to perform, videotape or not.

Milla 09-12-2007 04:52 PM

Yeah but video tape or not it makes life sooooo much easier when they know a blitz from the left, right or center is coming, and what coverage schemes they are running. Talented or not when you know what the defense is about to do, its pretty easy to stop it.

Its just retarded that they did it to of all teams the Jets, who they beat consistently, they have way to much talent to be pulling this bull shit. Which is why i think they need a harsh penalty. Losing draft picks is totally stupid, its not like they even need to draft anyone good, they have so many good players, which is why i say they forfeit the game.

Proteus 09-12-2007 05:12 PM

I think forfeiting the game would be the only penalty that could be given that would give any sense of justice to nfl fans.

The whole league is going to automatically hate them even more now. It didn't help that they were already hated. This is just nail in the coffin.

I was so psyched about raping the jets too.

Milla 09-12-2007 05:17 PM

A lot of people hate them but a lot of people like the, most people are bandwagon jumpers

Chronic Diarrhea 09-14-2007 09:18 AM

Belichick fined $500,000: team fined $250,000; 1st rd pick taken if they make playoffs; 2nd or 3rd rd pick taken if they don't.

[url:21ed3]http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3018338[/url:21ed3]

And BTW, Belichick is a fucking piece of shit. His press conference yesterday was a joke. He basically said I'm not saying anything. So they have another press conference today, and he says, "I'm not going to talk about the past, I'm focusing on San Diego." WTF? You can't talk about something that happened 12 hours ago? You at least owe your fans an apology sweater hood boy. Why even waste peoples' time if you're not going to say anything...about anything?

Nyck 09-14-2007 09:35 AM

Pats pull some bullshit stuff.

several teams complained about them taping them last year including the lions

last year when the lions played NE they were kicking the shit out of them lions up like 21-13 with 12 minutes left. the entire 2nd half the lions offense was clicking and they had the pats on the run, then jon kitna said the other day, out of the blue his headset in his helmet would stop working, but only when he was on the field. On the sidelines it would work again and it only happened in NE

lol! Saints meltdown. Brees fucks me for a third straight time in fantasy....Pennington gets the starts from now on. Fucking Penny has 2 TD passes and a rushing TD last week.

c312 09-25-2007 12:37 AM

Fans cheering at hurt players is BS...

There was a good article about Rutgers fans being a-holes to Navy a few weeks back. [url=http://blog.nj.com/njv_mark_diionno/2007/09/rutgers_part_two_no_excuses_fo.html:bab45]Here is the article[/url:bab45]

When you play an academy, there is usually a lot of respect. Even Notre Dame sang the Navy fightsong a few years back after they crushed Navy. It made me kind of like Charlie Weiss...kinda. But not really.

Pyro 09-25-2007 12:58 PM

Giants oOo:

Milla 09-30-2007 03:41 PM

meh he was injured most of the year and then jackass saban took off...oh well first overall pick is looking mighty good right now

[DAS REICH] Blitz 10-09-2007 04:17 PM

alright so i was reading MSN mock draft based on the 5 worst teams this season, and it seems Atlanta is predicted to have the 2nd pick in the draft.

However, I definitely remember Atlanta swapping first round picks this year with Houston due to the Matt Schaub trade. This means Atlanta will probably have the 10th pick, and Houston will have the 2nd pick overall. Does anyone else know about this?

Milla 10-09-2007 04:24 PM

Not sure. I know the Jets will definitely have a pick near the top.
