Crysis Requirements Last Updated: October 18, 2007
Crysis will no doubt be a fairly demanding game. It will require a good system to perform well. However, CryEngine2 is very scalable so lower end machines will still stand a chance. Here are the official, and complete system requirements for Crysis.

The beta at the minute has no real way to guage performance, its improved over the last couple of releases but the game only uses a single cpu core at present. Demos out this time next week so should give a good indicator if all cores are used. Hope it includes dx10 to see what difference it makes to the game and performance.

rumor has it the sp demo, which was to be released next week has been delayed.
People who per ordered via the EA store, have received emails letting them know the crysis beta part of their order is being delayed. No reason has been given and the Crysis guys have not commented on any of this - Yet! |

Crytec stated this was false, the demo will be released next week on time.
this was a mix up because of the EA store and they way they linked the two products together. |

I'm more interested in the new sandbox editor..... Now that will be fun and how about new maps being released before the game is even shipped or close to it's release date!

Its out thursday for anyone that preorders from ea apparently. No thx i'll wait till friday. This demo will make or break this game, if people aren't blown away considering all the hype this game will probably tank badly.

Seems the slags at ea have dicked over people who preordered the game, they were meant to be able to play the crysis demo today. So far on the various forums all im seeing is they were allowed to preload the demo today and have to wait till tomorrow to play it. :crazy:

funny how NV is holding a Crysis SP demo launch party today the 26th.... I was sooooo close to pre ordering it just for the editor but said, FU EA (hey I think we need a new smilie) and waited. I can play the MP demo at anytime but really wanted to start playing with the sandbox editor.... Some things never change. geRV how about he people in the UK who had pre ordered the game to get instant access to the MP beta? It took EA about a week to give them instant access.... |
I went ahead and preordered it since im a whore, its amazing really they seem to have managed to release a broken demo.
At the start of the demo you're dropping down onto an island, your chute fucks up and you land in water, soon as i hit the water the game freezes. Theres 64 and 32 bit version of the exe, for whatever reason only the 64 bit version works, the other versions tell you to log into the dload manager to verify ownership..even when i am logged in. Tried logging out and back in and no change. Ended up loading up the sandbox editor and finding my spawn point, works well from thre UNTILL you come acorss the first enemy, soon as i kill him the editor closes. Simply an amazing demo, lets recap: demo crashes on the same scene every time 32 bit and 64 bit version included but for whatever reason only 64 bit seems to work Editor works untill you shoot an enemy then it closes for no reason giving no error. Oh and when you load the demo you have to sit though about 50 advert screens AND a fucking video of the nano suit before you can even start to load. Better off finding those files and removing them, theyre located in the game\localized\video dir theyre all .sfd files "angryfire" |

And what's with EA and their "here is some adverts for you to watch before you can play the demo" BS. I was very close in pre ordering int but my ass is still sore from buying Airborne on day one for 55/60 US bucks, Jonas (TMT/EA forums) is saying he has seen it for 20 now..... |
Got it working properly, had to register some bs code with ea link to get the other version working.

Ran pretty flawlessly on my C2D 2.2, 2GIG DDR2 RAM, 8800GTS 320mb. Everything on High except Postprocessing on Medium, ran far better than the Beta did. Didn't have AA on as the beta didn't support it, this prolly does tho |

Has anyone managed to run the demo in dx9 mode? Constantly crashes for me.
"angryfire" just got it working, for some reason the dx9 performance in vista is worse than the dx10 performance. |
I was going to say give me a couple just got up, the demo finished downloading very late last night.
However I'm only running it under XP. It will take a bit longer to update my vista driver, however I want to test it there as well. Quote:

The vista driver that was released killed my performance, even high settings were maxing at about 15fps which was what I was getting previously with the very high settings. With the older driver I get around 25-30 Fps with high settings.

Create a new config file. Lets call it tweak.cfg. Copy all that to the new config file.
Place it in the config folder. Now start Crysis with the command line: crysis.exe +exec tweak Or just add +exec tweak to your Crysis shortcut. Damn i hate all the intro and exit ads. UT3 demo was stupid with how many it had, at least they were skippable.

The editors pretty fun been making tornados and giving them super power, sucks in physics objects from pretty much the entire level and sends them flying. :D
Seen some odd glitches in game though, sometimes if you throw a barrel it goes straight through trees :eek: |
If you run the benchmark demo, you will see in the CPU demo, at the end, he walks right through the blown up pickup truck.
Now wouldn't this make a great engine for Airborne? Hell you para-drop in at the bigging LOL. |

I really dunno if this engine would be good for a moh game, it could be sort of tailored to make good looking foliage laden levels and not necessarily that good at indoor levels. In the beta of crysis some of the indoor areas look like shit. Could picture ea hyping it up though if they ever did use this engine for a moh game, then you buy it and realise all the mp components have been stripped out..again. Can't say im too happy with the performance of this game either, for a game thats meant to use multi core and multi gpu's ive not seen too many people with sli say its running well. And that cervat guy has stated multiple times its been built to take advantage of dual\quad and multi gfx card setps. |
Id swear i just heard that the demo, for some reason, wasnt actually using dual cores. Ran pretty well on my:
E6600 2gigs DDr2 800 8800 gts 320 (bfg overclocked) Didnt have every thing maxed out which i will try later on just set it to what i knew would run and look pretty. |
I can get this POS running.
Reinstalled a couple times. Drivers updated. Game doesn't respond right at bootup. All i see is "pre release demo" text in upper right on a back screen. The game hangs there. I moved those sys files like RD said. I got to the main menu once and it stopped responding there. Couldn't click anything. As you can tell, so far i'm not impressed. |
Are you using the newly released nvidia driver? It actually breaks the 64 bit version of the game...and yet it was released spefically for the demo. :rolleyes:
