Another rudedog update.......theme / graphics
 

Well I must say I've fallen behind on working on the theme for the site and I'm sorry about that. Every time I think I'm going to sit down and do a bit more I get side tracked with real life (OK I've been also playing a bit of the Fuel of war beta).

Hopefully I will get some time tomorrow to clean up the "post thread box" as well as some of the pull down menus.

Once the skinning is complete, I can move on to the buttons, which I was able to download the graphics dev kit from vB. So I now have all the psd files which includes all the layers - very nice and easy to work with.

Just so you know, why I went with a stream lined theme (all I've done was changed the css around) which makes it load faster but also a lot easier when a new version or an update to vB comes along.

Once I can get the theme worked on, I will move on to a real front page, where we can get some volunteers to post news and site happenings.

Again just wanted to let everyone know how things are going on the back end.

I'm still working on the theme, however you have a choice between the ones you want to use right now.

If for some reason you can't read something or something does not display correctly, just reply and or switch themes back to the default for now.

Before going doing anything just yet, let me tweak something first (color wise brown and green)

OK, for the most part, I think I'm done. Please let me know if you find any issues. elstatec and I will be working on the icons and small graphics. Once that is done, I'll make this the default for everyone.

I will also keep an eye out for some other themes just in case you want to change it up a bit, but that won't be any time soon LOL.

Yes I big thanks to geVR for the screen shot. Granted it's not aa.com but I tried to get as close as possible.

Also if anyone finds that their theme reverts to the old theme, that is because I updated the name and removed the old test green+brown theme.

Now I need to find smilies that work with a dark background, get the board icons and we should be all set.

I volunteered long ago to take over your grueling trips to game developers headquarters to preview there games. Im willing to sacrifice my time for this so that you can remain focused on the ever more involving task of maintaining the site. I know, im to generous, its a fault of mine.

i have the bold/italics/smilies hidden too. how do i change it?

click on the User CP (upper right hand corner) -> user options - > all the way to the bottom it says Miscellaneous Options -> message editor Interface.

I love the new lay out, about time we got an update.

There was not way for me to push the wysiwyg layout and TBH I thought everyone knew about it.

Please spread the word, if anyone registers from the time we did the switch, it will be set automatically.

Another TBH, I will tell you I suck at layout and design, I'm not too crazy about the brown and green and personally don't think it does the old AA.com theme justice.

I may poke around again when I get more time or see if I can find a pre made theme but for now this will have to do, getting busy again with work.

Yeah, I had that same sentiment, but I didn't want to say it. I just have the default on, since the blue and white is nice (maybe blue/white camo layout? i dunno).
