Yes i'm still alive, i've just been spending far too much time working and stuff at the moment (working towards my Imminent promotion). I no longer have the internet at home, which is the reason i've become rather inactive.

So anyway, how is everyone? I see you've converted over to the dark side (vbulletin) - Looks nice!

BTW Tyn, my respects sir, this is why I didn't join the Royal Navy, 8 months+ at sea in a ship with 500+ guys really isn't healthy for a young man.

Yeah it pretty bad not having internet, but I suppose it forces me to go out and socialise. Although I spend far too much cash in the pub!


I work in IT, I was previously a techy, but i've now moved to another role (office based, decision making role). Deal with server maintenance (print servers, mail servers, etc). Deal with the audit database, licences + software maintenance and purchases and work with contractors.

Great deal more responsibility involved. So my promotion *should* result in a nice £6k increase (thats about $12k).

So any news in the last 6-12 months that I need to be aware of? I see theres still lots of familiar faces.
