So it was a big day for news about the new 3G iPhone. Anyone thinking about getting one?

It's still just 8gig and 16gig with no MMS, no video calls (I was wishing for that with the 3G capabilities), no copy and paste still, no updated camera from the old 2MP, still no form of SD slots, no vibration touch confirmation for the screen, no turn by turn GPS in the new GPS capabilities.

Some major and minor things in that list that irk me. I might purchase it though for $199 for the 8gig model come July 11th. I already have my zune 80gig for music and videos that I just love. So I don't see myself needing so much space on my phone.

Thoughts? Will Steve Jobs take over the world?

Its ok untill your headphone jack starts to fuck up and the phone thinks theyre constantly plugged in, no audio through the speaker with the exception of ringtones when that happens..

yeah i think you Canadians get a 8gig limit to your monthly data plan whereas the US data plan is unlimited.

That a fact? When the original iphone was released in the uk coupled with the contract it worked out yearly at around £900, so you're talking over $1800 a year.

With current rates, Users here in Canada are looking at 6315 $ over 2 years.

i really wanted to play around with that, but it's not coming out until the end of August or the beginning of September. My brother and dad's phones were royally f'ed up so we were stretching it as it was with the iphone release. We're all happy so no harm done.

Dunno why people just dont buy an unlocked phone and use a pay and go sim, thats what i did.

with the maount of long distance i do, it doesnt work out for me :(

yep no one has any exact info on pricing yet, but estimated are around $500 as of now.

yeah, that's a very fair article. I think it all comes down to usage. If you're a business man the Bold would be the better choice. The e-mail and business usage is very nice. I'm still a college student and find the iPhone great for me. I get my gmail pushed to my phone with IMAP and that's probably the most complicated I'd need for a while.

It's like a computer buyer with APPLE vs PC. Graphics and audio....get a Mac. Business and gaming, get a PC. It's all about what your needs are.
