What planes are you guys planning to have in the game.

Planes so far:
Ju87
Fw190(I believe that I've seen it, but not sure)
P51(D Day striped version)
V2(Not sure about that one)

Are you guys planning on putting more planes in the game for our destroying/exploding pleasure? For example some weird German prototypes like the Do 335, or the Go 229?

I think I saw a C-47 in the Gamespot.com ingame movie. I think it's when you're in sniper town and you see a badly damaged C-47 going down. Althoug I don't think you see the crash, maybe you hear the crash and then find the crash site.

That plane thats going down in "Snipertown" looks more like a Stuka to me, far to small to be a C47. Maybe we'll even see some Spitfires, B17's ?? That would be cool. Are there any mission where we actually have to parachute in ??? That is something I wanna see.

Fw190 looks really good. The model look like it's from a flight simulatior, but it's from an fps.

Brett 06-12-2001 11:11 PM

i wonder how close will powell come to any planes that are shot down . thats if any planes get shot down . and if we will be able to see the enemy parachute out of the plane , and we get to hunt the guy down , that would be awesome .

Those are good looking planes! I looked at the crashing plane again and I think you're right. It looks like a Stuka,

Japple 06-14-2001 12:51 AM

The 190 looks good but there are some parts to the plane that are not true to the real thing.

Which parts?

Polaris 06-14-2001 05:43 AM

there was different versions of the fw190. i wonder which one that is

Japple 06-14-2001 05:58 AM

Look at the tail wheel...the wheel is supposed to be free not parrallel with the fuselage...try to think if the plane turned...it just wouldn't work. Also almost every early german fighter had a white swirl on the nose so people would know when propellar was turning. Also there is no doors for the gear...currently it shows the gear to just fold up under the wing. And where are the guns?

These things stick out to me, but I won't expect them to change it...Overall I think they did an outstanding job.

Polaris 06-14-2001 06:03 AM

do you know what version it is ,Japple ?

Gen. Rommel 06-14-2001 06:14 AM

I can't tell what version it is from this art. I think I'd have to see it closer and with more detail . But it's true that most German planes did have the strips on their nose. Of course I've seen plenty of Flight sims that don't have it.

is this what you are talking about ?

Recycled Spooge 06-14-2001 07:06 AM

http://philc.ncms.org/images/Military/ww2axis/fw190.jpg I believe that this is the version they modelled, and I don't think there were any doors for the gear.

http://philc.ncms.org/images/Militar...is/fw190lg.jpg

It was fun to fly in Jane's WWII Fighters. I agree with you about the tail wheel.

Yep, the last version I posted is the "Fw-190 Ta-152".

Polaris 06-14-2001 07:43 AM

it looks like the back wheel can be retracted , no ?

Yes, according to this German Luftwaffe site. http://www.unsere-luftwaffe.de/inhalt/jagdflz/index.htm

Polaris 06-14-2001 07:48 AM

nice !

Recycled Spooge 06-14-2001 07:51 AM

http://www.hotel.wineasy.se/ipms/pho..._fw190a_10.jpg

As you can see on the picture, there is indeed a mechanism to hide the wheel. There is also a caption that says, "Fighter's tail with tail wheel gear. The tail wheel was retractable. However, on this example it has apparently been fixed in the down position. It is probable that it was so already during the operational life of this particular machine".

BadScript 06-14-2001 09:30 AM

Nice RS, very nice.

Gen. Rommel 06-14-2001 09:33 AM

You use to play Janes? Did you play online? What was your online name? Hmm/?

Cpt.Kickass 06-14-2001 09:37 AM

what about one of those japan planes from like pearl harbor

Recycled Spooge 06-14-2001 10:39 AM

I believe this could be the Fw190 about to land.

Japple 06-15-2001 10:04 AM

yea, I guess it depends on which model they used...whatever it was...they did an awesome job

Hells-Angel 06-15-2001 10:07 AM

matt, this is about fighting against the nazis, and they were called zeros

Oh, well then we're talking about different planes. But this plane looks to thin to be a P-47. The P-47 was huge, but it kinda looks like a C-47...I don't know but for some reason it looks to big for a fighter. It could be a P-51, but I don't think it's a 47.

C-47 has more than one engine, but the plane on the video has only one engine.

Gen. Rommel 06-17-2001 02:42 AM

I looked at a few pictures of 51's and 47's..and I think you're right. It'd make much more sense to be a 47 since 51's were still making escort runs. The only thing that got to me was that the plane just looked to long or too thin. There was just something that got to me...I guess I'm just used to Janes version of the 47. I wonder why the gear is down, maybe it's doing an emergency landing, I mean the plane appears to be alone..so maybe it was damaged, although it doesn't look it. But the plane I was talking about was another one which had black smoking coming out of it and was spiraling down.

BallisticWookie 06-17-2001 04:48 AM

Well after studying pic after pic of P51's and P47's, I think from what I can see in that above pic it's a P47. P51s had squared off wing tips and had that large intake underneath the fuselage. They also had a pointed nose cone. And in that pic that plane has a stubby nose (P47). Also your right about the video of "snipertown". That is indeed an Allied plane. Whether it be a P47 or P51, you can definately see the D Day stripes on it if you look close enough. But why would he have his landing gear down ???
