Good friend of my DAD's knew Motley Crew very well. When they were here for the shout at the devil tour ( opening for Ozzy), they stayed at my dads house for a couple of days. really cool guys.

During the concert I was back stage waiting for the guys to come out of their dressing room and ozzy stopped by and asked if I was having a good time. I was 15 at the time and I was amazed at how friendly ozzy was
To take the time to say hi. I was already a fan of his but this just made me want to go out and buy all his tapes ( no CDs back then guys) all over again

Creed and Fuel
Good story about the Fuel concert:

My friend and I always do things together. He called up the local radio station one time durring one of those 8th caller wins contest. And it just turned out to be that he won two tickets for the first row at Musikfest (Bethlehem, PA). Not only did we get the awsome seats, we got to meet the guys backstage. They signed my CD and a poster that they gave us. The funny thing was, we got to get past the gates early. The line was litterally about half a mile. We passed all them! SUCKERS!!! Muhahahahahahahah!............................haha hahahahahaha.

Hollywood 08-10-2002 01:23 PM

I was too young to remember Motley Crue staying over dad's house. All I get is the stories. That's just not fair. I've seen:

Rock

Kiss (twice)
Dave Matthews Band (Twice)
Steve Miller Band
Ted Nugent
Doobie Brothers
Lynard Skynard
Hootie and the Blowfish
Bare Naked Ladies

Rap/Metal

Eminem
Ludacris
Xzibit
Papa Roach
Eve
Busta Rymes

My girlfriend made me go to some other rap bands that I'd rather not mention  , and I know I've been to more rock concerts but I can't seem to remember any more right now.

08-10-2002 01:25 PM

its xzibit right?

jimo_soccer 08-10-2002 01:26 PM

i havent really seen anyone cause it always to expensive. :(

Hollywood 08-10-2002 01:35 PM

I knew I mispelled Xzibit. And if you think concerts are expensive, try going to a Rolling Stones concert 8)

08-10-2002 01:40 PM

I use to listen to Rap, but Im more into Metalica

rudedog 08-10-2002 03:17 PM

Colonel 08-13-2002 10:41 AM

Let's see....

In the 70's
Elvis
The Doobie Brothers (2 times)
Chicago (2 times)
Boston (when they only had one album)
The Beach Boys (including all original members)
Linda Ronstadt (when she was a skinny knock-out)
Kansas

The 80's
Pat Benetar (at Brothers Music Hall in Birmingham - before they had a hit record)
Jimmy Buffett (have seen Buffett 20+ times, beginning in the late 70's through 2001, the most times in one year was 3 in 1980)
The Little River Band
Hotel (Nobody outside of B'ham knows this band, but they were a favorite at the time)
Cheap Trick (this might have been in 1978 or 1979)

The 90's
Elton John/Billy Joel (joint tour - rode the elevator with BJ)
The Rolling Stones (one of their many farewell tours)

As you can see I don't go to many. AND I'm old. (not as old as Oldguy - I think his concert list includes Mitch Miller and Tommy Dorsey). :o Now I just go see Buffett once a year and that's about it. Concerts are too expensive. I paid $15 to see Elvis in 1976. At that time most concerts were around $6. I stopped going to concerts in the 80's when ALL the prices were above $15, because I said I wouldn't pay more to see some New Wave band than I did to see The King of Rock and Roll.  It also chaps my butt that you have to go through Ticketmaster to get a ticket. What a racket! :x

Oops, I forgot the first concert I ever went to. The Who and Herman's Hermits. I was about 11 years old, my older sister took me. What is funny about it looking back, is that the Who wer the opening act, I can remember them smashing up their instruments, and thinking that they really sucked, and how cool Herman's Hemits wer. By the time I was 16 The Who were one of my favorite groups and Hermit's Hemits were has beens.

CS&N were great, and Stills can play a mean guitar
Young was fantastic, he is one of my all time favorites, and he can play even a meaner guitar
The Who I was only 11(1967) when I saw them they were way above my head at that time.
never cared for def leppard
but the rest of them would have been good to see, The problem with living in Nebraska in the 60's & 70's was not to many big groups would play there. Had to go to Kanas City for the good concerts, but then, like now money was tight. So the Concerts I did get to were too few and far between.

I would have loved to see night ranger or REO in concert.

I'll be going to see Wide Mouth Mason when they go on tour this winter. Their a great Canadian Band from Saskatchewan. Don't expect to see them any other place than Canada, though. They don't have a lable to support them internationally. If you can find some of their music, listen to it. Its great. They deserve a lot more attention than they get.

I missed my chance to see REO in Lincoln. NE, broke up with a girl I was living with at the time. She got my Stereo a bunch of book most of my dishes and the REO tickets. I don't even know if she went.
Blackfeet? did they sound a lot like Lynard Skynard? I think I might have a Blackfeet album buried in the garage at home.
And Rush was another group I would have loved to see.
