Stalked?
 

I think I'm being stalked. Last week I had someone come on our server and on the opposing team and use the identical name as me. I then changed my name to King pest and the guy changed his as well. He wouldn't respond to any questions asked in chat.

Then I get on again the other day and there is only one guy in the server. I join the opposite team as him. He then switches to the same team as me. So I switch again. So does he. And again. Finally someone else joins and I can proceed to play normally, but everytime I turn around this guy is right behind me. WTF? Who the hell knew that gamers were weirdos?

That sucks dude. If it happens again, ask the server admin to ban his ass. I'm sure the admins on the aa.com or =DOA= servers would ban the stalker's IP in the blink of an eye if said stalker didn't smarten up and choose his own name.

That'll learn 'im.

It wasn't me. :) I did something kinda like that to a friend once though. I saw that he (Mazzo) was on an Omaha only server. I logged on as Mazzo's Worst Nightmare and clubbed him a few times with my pistol (FF was off) just to get his attention. Then I went Axis and sniped him a bunch of times (I know where he likes to snipe/camp from on Omaha Beach). I only did it for a couple of rounds and then he got mad and logged off. I did it to him again for a few rounds the next night. What made it really funny was listening to him complain about being stalked for a week before I admitted it was me. :lol:

Anyway, it could be one of your friends messin' with ya.

We can do that. We didnt boot him or ban him when it happened. It seemed harmless enough, but just really weird. This person doesn't know me from adam (as far as I can tell).

You have to really try hard to get booted off our server. We have the map glitches patched (thanks dogmeat) and we can deal with the rest. Dumb things like continuosly spamming voice commands will get you booted after a warning. That was the last guy to get kicked. This guy might earn that distinction soon.



Speaking of servers - try ours, we like it full.

SAVAGE BRILLIANCE - Base TM, original maps (no Snowy Park or crossroads), ff off. Comes online 5:30 Eastern and all day weekends. Its a good solid machine that can handle the traffic it gets, if you lag, its not because of the server.

Ya know, I thought of that, but the two guys that would have done that to me were on a conference call with me at the time. It was actually kind of cool, because I kept telling them if they were better they would have a stalker too.

Sounds like a good server, Pest. I'll try it out soon. BTW - great looking sig.

Once I get my CD-ROM issue straightened out, I'll hop on the server as well, pest. Sounds like a good spot.

We ban players who do idiotic things like you just discussed pest

Try the =[DOA]= or aa.com server

Both myself and rudedog try to keep players like
this from ever getting on the server

Many admins now are joining me and we are "pooling"
banned IPs... So if you go to some server with some
"other" name and act like an idiot, you may just find
yourself BANNED from all of the best servers

I tried to get in that server a few times and never made it . Had less than 100 ping on it but it wouldn't hook up ??? I think I was getting time outs. Been a while since I tried it , maybe tonight I'll try again.

I think I remember when that happened. You were talking to a guy named All over but the crying. I think it was a sunday and we were having problems with the server. It automatically resets on Mondays. It is also set up on a nondefault port - 12205. I dont know if that makes a difference or not if you try to get in by IP.

I think he is trying to be like Strik0r and get a ton of posts in a short time but he just doesn't have Strik0r's finess.

I've had that happen. Bind some keys to some difficult to type names. Let admin know what the offending person is doing. Change to a new name. Then, admin can see that person change his(or, hers) name to yours. Then have admin kick him.(or, her)
