Mappers, Modders and Skinners unite - a suggestion
Most of you might not know I own and admin the AA.com dedicated game server
It's a pain in the butt when I have to go looking for a map mod or skin What I propose is. A naming system that will easily identify your type of pk3 file. This is just the name of the pk3 file and does not have anything to do with the internal name. Something along the lines of this Maps can be broken down into two types: user-map-obj-map_name.pk3 user-map-TDM-map_name.pk3 skins: user-skins-skin_name.pk3 mods: user-mod-mod_name.pk3 This way when you list the main dir. you will see all your files in groups. This will make the job of admins easier thus giving the admin more time to monitor his/her server. Let me know what you guys think. |
Here is an example of the before and after ftp listing

I think its a good idea
|
Yes it is a good idea - the only problem will be trying to get everyone to conform to it
|
We need to spread the word. Feel free to link to this message if you like
|
One way to get it conformed is to make it a submit rule here
