What the H3LL is with the massive sigs???
Some of you obviously suffer from some sort of erectile dysfunction or penis envy.
Damn, what a bunch of horse shit. Who the hell wants to D/L this stuff? (Much less scroll through it.) I sitting in front of a 19" monitor and it drives me nuts. Let's not forget that some of our users still use 15" monitors in 800x600 resolution and some people (those poor unfortunates) still access these boards via 56k dialup. Unless someone is suffering from a serious emotional issue or chemical imbalance, one reasonably sized graphic should be more than enough to represent yourself. (perhaps two at the most.) WTF is going on here?? Spooge, Rude, Wookie, ya gotta do something here, this shit is gettin' outta hand. It's time to lay the smack down on some of these fooz. Check out snipeymagoo's enourmous sig and BTW, what the hell is Gothic_child180 thinking???? Seriously. |
I agree, Killah.
I make all my sigs 400x125, and they rarely top 70K in size. Something's got to be done to limit these monsterous/multiple sigs. Zone |
I agree. You mean nobody else runs their comp at 800x600? If I go any higher all the sites look strange. It does make things easier to see though at a higher resolution.

Mod Ukuma/Gothic child wins for longest sig. Even with my screen at 1280x1084 it consumed the whole screen. [Own] Rebel/SnippeMagoo comes in a close second. Those two signatures are out of control. Frankly they dont look good either. So far those are the only two that i see as out of sontrol. Its funny theres a limit on how much text you can put in that box but within that limit you can cram ungodly amounts of bb code for pictures. a picture that is actaully larger than the text you may have wanted to type out. its should be more limited. I admit that i've had a big one at one point, but i made it that way because i wanted it to be noticed. After a week i reduced its size. There sigs however just seem to get longer and longer. |
mine aren't long i they don't even cover all of my screen andi have a resolution of 1152x764.
|
It's still pretty LONG, though. What's the point of the last image in yer sig?? It really has nothing to do with MOHAA, this board, or anything related, does it?
Zone |
couldnt agree more! They gotta do it cause they era hung like a squirrel!
mb |
Hmmmm... not too big, huh???
Have you seen this at 800x600??? [img]http://img1.ranchoweb.com/images/killah/madd.gif[/img] Certainly not as bad as some of the L33t siggies... but you have to admit it's a l33tle b33t overzealous. |
yea look at gothic child's sig. Its so big I had to take 2 screenshots. Sry if its a lil big heh.
[img]http://www.usrangers.netfirms.com/Sigs/ghotic1.jpg[/img] [img]http://www.usrangers.netfirms.com/Sigs/gothic2.jpg[/img] This is running on 1024x768 res. HUGE sig. |
i think animated sigs should die cry:
|
i agree. the big sigs r gh3y.....
|
I try to keep mine at a reasonable size. Mine runs on 1024x768 also
|
I was actually going to cut mine down, and I got it down to 37KB. Akuma. it really is ridiculous...you need to cut some of that shite.
|
Mine is quite large on the screen but the image sizes are really small.
|
Umm...guys, please take a look at the #7 forum rule:
( 7 ). Keep your Sigs at a reasonable size, both in dimensions and size in Kb's. Please be aware there are a number of 56k users out there. Please comply... |
[quote="Gothic_child180":7c850]NEVER!
The more people tell me to take it down or make it smaller the more I add on.[/quote:7c850] For those who didnt read the thread link i posted earlier, this is where the topic ended up. Thats what he thinks of your rules Dodd. |
You tell em, Dodd. heh
|
That ought to be enough to really change things around here.
Thanks Dodd! LOL |
Personlly, I think the smaller and tighter sigs look better anyway. More is not always better. If there are rules on the size of sigs, in kbs or dimension (or number, more than 2 pictures is silly... And Akuma's...) then they should be enforced.
I like sigs, they bring colour and personality to the board. I just think there should be stricter guidelines. If you're too busy to do this huge task of regulating sigs, I'll take on the challenge biggrin: |
ive droped the big ass siggy for this one...if it is still too big i have 2 more of a reasonable size :)
|
Any chance you could put one up that doesn't have a goofy rebel flag on it.

|
ur so right korvac...omg u guessed my every thought...
|
Attaboy, snipey.... hang on to your values. Im tired of all these politically correct, granola-eating treehuggers whining, pissing and moaning. Thanks for reducing the size of your banner.
(Now for a rant) Whether one agrees with the confederate flag being displayed or not, it is part of American history and should not be forgotten. Look at the Nazi battle flag and the rising sun flag. They played in integral part in world history and yet they're now shoved into closets since so many people have bitched and whined that they can't be displayed in public. The very people that whine about freedom and equality are often the first in line to enact legislation forbidding it. Everyone wants to be treated equally, unfortunately some just want to be treated more equally than others. It seems that you can say and do as you like, as long as no one is offended. I say grow up and stop being such babies. If someone is a member of the Klan, or some Neo Nazi group, if they're Buddhists, Catholic, Protestant, Yankee, Redcoats, Bluebloods, Redneck, Liberal, Democrat or a member of some other special interest group, so freakin' what. They should be able to worship, congregate or demonstrate whereever and whenever they want, as long as it's within the confines of the law. I seem to recall that one of the first mods I saw for BF1942 was the "historically correct flags" mod. I never noticed until I looked into it. What a stupid thing to have to worry about. Although I personally don't support Hitler's values or beliefs in relation to ratial purity, I do support anyone else's right to believe as they see fit. Isn't it odd that the first thing most gamers complain about is a lack of realism or historical accuracy. Let's face it, due to polical issues, you can't have it. Things are omitted and often removed to avoid public outcry. You don't have to like or support someone else's values or beliefs, but true freedom means allowing others to hold those values and beliefs. Remember that "Right" and "Wrong" are often dependent on which side of the fence your standing. I'd rather know the whole truth than have it hidden from the masses to spare someone's feelings. History is difficult enough to document without the truth being perverted or twisted to become "PC". WWII was ugly, the US Civil War was ugly. Hitler's master plan was an abomination. Slavery was absolutely inhuman. Nonetheless, they should not be forgotten. Today's youth need to know exactly how horrible it was, no matter how graphic or unsettling. They should know the truth and decide for themsleves what they believe. That's freedom. (End of rant) Disclaimer: Believe what you want, just don't promote those beliefs with an insanely huge banner in these forums!! LOL |

There's always a smart@ss in every group.
Nicely done PFC. Green. |
Im a danm proud yankee! The flag doesnt bother me at all. Our southern brothers just take longer to learn history, thats all. Bring that flag up here to Detroit and Ill bet you go home with you tail between your legs or in a body bag! Freedom of expression is a right so is kicking ass!

That's great. Remind me to put on my overalls and chew on a peice of straw when I get home, too. hake:

Okee, dokee.... so we're all aware of the siggy size restrictions then, are we?

News Flash
Inconsiderate fucktards ruin it for everybody!...Film at 11. "Yay! Lemme rain on everyones party coz Izza ignorant som-bitch" Dodd has spoken. The Admins WILL be looking into sigs more often now and if your sig is rediculous expect a PM. All it will take is enough ppl complaining of load times and watch the sig size decrease to a postage stamp or get eliminated alltogether. Watch. The Admins will warn ppl of sig size first and next you will get the same ppl bitching "Hey! His sig is 5k bigger than mine, how come you dont make HIM change it??" and it will annoy the admins to the point they disable signatures alltogether. Ive seen this very thing happen on 2 boards I frequent. We'll, I hope everybody enjoyed the sigs while they lasted. And all because a few ppl think they can flaunt the rules. |
