The shotgun has to be the best gun in the game if u know how to play with it but i mostly snipe but in levls like v2 rocet facility it owns and even in destroyed villag u can own if someone is at a range distance with a smg or something RUN! most people with shotguns dont realize this and die but its sos simple to get them.Just run into a building and wait at the door and i bet 10 to 1 that person will follow u in the building and boom their dead

The shottie's not bad and i dont mind it because as long as you keep your distance you can take car of buisness with an smg

Although a shot gun was rarely(if ever) used in combat, simular in nature to MOHAA is another matter.

Yes it is a decent wepon in an un modded game, why cause it kills to easy, hell that is why i like the STG under CKR, but the shot gun is not that historicly correct, nor is it favored.

You'll understand this sooner or later, and you will noticet the draw backs in close combat, on a larage game, as someone can easily out shoot you, especially if they know how to play, As the shot gun is an extremely inacurate wepon, (sort of.)

All your post suggests to me is that plain an simple you take this game half serious -- which is reccomended-- as the level of seriousness I can take this gmae is mindnumbing, and more or less disturbing!

Now Back to the point, do you often find yourself not making first, do you often find yoourself wondering why people call you a newb, ass, Fag, so on and so forth, do you find yourself having horrible and outlandish ratios???

Well my slow friend, you are a NEWB! and well we all were, accpet it!! but in my view its like Gay pride, sure i'm fine with them, sometimes I can tolerate there dress and actions in public, But honestly they need a Gay Pride march as much as the KKK needs a ralley. (THIS LAST PARAGRAPH IS NOT MENT TO OFFEND, THIS IS MY OPION AN AS I EXPRESSED ABOVE, WE ALL SHOULD HAVE ONE)

Why, you ask? why is it a newb wepon, a smart person containg knowledge, could easily dodge shotgun rounds in the game, infact when I come up against a shotgun -- which is rare on a CKR server, as the shotguns contain little power, and are modded this way, promoting other and more exciting wepons to use, which by the way also kill in ONE shot if aimed properly(not to mention, Aiming is rather easy) -- Well... Like i said "When I come up against a Shotgun in a game I normaly win the dual, on about a 10:1 ratio. the ratio could be higher if I knew s/he was running towards me.

do you see, although a shotgun may kill in one shot, it rarely does, thus causing problems, especially if the server has a realism mod on it, IE. Crow Kings Server which runs his CKR(Crow Kings Realism) mod, the shotgun is modded(modified) to be less powerfull then the stock standard. the CKR mod also moddes other wepons makeing them stronger, and more appealing. IE. the dreadful STG, or KAR(mauser) or MOB's server BAR.

Now suppose I ran up to you, and had 15 shots left in a Thompson, and you had two rouns left in your shot gun, and I dodged your bullets and you dodged mine, Well we both have to reload, the THompson reloads faster then the shotgun(one of the slowest reloading time for a wepon in this game) and assuming it doesn't turn into a pistol war, I will infact be finished re-loading, And incase you run, I would most likely follow, and like i said 10:1(+) odds are you would be dead.

So what if the shotgun is good on a laggy larage Omaha game, those games require little skill. Know how i know that, THat is how i started playing MOHAA, in larage laggy servers, I can remember back about 6months(+) ago sniping in Stalingrad, Camping out with a Rocket in omaha(keeping in mind this was way before Crow Kings server)

I eventually got sick of that, and used a real wepon. and Discovered Crow Kings server, which i quickly blossemed into what I consider a rather decnet player(i'll be modest here.) although I metioned using a sniper rifle in stalingrad(NOT RECCOMENDED) a Sniper is a toatly bad wepon, it is good target practice, and fun if used in a resecptable and SMART siuation, IE. no small games, unless otherwised instructed, or if the game you are in has about 10 snipers already.



Well now, I think i conveyed my point rather well, as well as rather confusing. Don't worry in the near future i will proffread this beast.

shotgun has its purpose, just like the stg, bar, kar98, pistols, nades, and so on, nothing really special about it. if you really love sniping/shotties, hop on different servers running different mods, I can gaurantee you the shotty wont be as effective in the ckr environment, sniping in the doa (takes alot of practice to get any good at sniping), mg'ing with ares5. come to the doa server and snipe, or join rude's server and use the shotty, I can gaurantee you that you will die to my pistol before you kill me.

another thing, you were talking about having someone follow you into a building so you could camp at the door and kill them. Its appearant you haven't played others who are a little better. Any decent player no matter what server they are on, would at least chuck a few nades or take there time by glancing in to see if you are camping. if you are gonna bait ppl, dont expect to be a sound plan, alot of ppl can easily get you other ways

The shotgunis an awesome weapon. I use it occasionally.

Let me give you guys a hint.... if you see a shotugn on a open map, DONT LET IT GET CLOSE!!!! And by all means, dont start calling the guy names when you run up to him and give him the perfect shot. That makes you a crybaby noob.

a smart shotgunner will use it in tight areas ie ...alleys, small rooms, where u can maximize spread. great in stock on certain maps. you get 5 shells...use em carefully. they suck in realism. common knowledge.

also they were used in ww1 and ww2...aka trench guns. someone posted some great links about the historical use of shotguns in combat over at PMOH btw....

10-1 ratio vs a shotgun? ill tell u what "periodical table of elements"....u wouldnt get that ratio on a good clan server...you would be even lucky to get 2/1 ratio...and i bet if u popped in to visit the =KaoS= fellas we would be happy to accomodate u with a negative kill/death ratio..... oOo: To much shit talk around here lately...especially from the new-comers. NO ONE CARES HOW GOOD U R!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR WHAT YOUR RATIOS R...but im sure they would care to see u proven wrong....heh....

Why?
I don't know it just doesn't seem to be all too military to me (kind of like those new-age crappy one-hander SMGs, aka the terrorist guns).
I prefer real military weapons, preferably full auto and belt fed biggrin:

shotgun = newbies
rockets = newbies
one shot kills..yea that real fair..at least sniper has a level of difficulty to it

Realism mods are not really realism....they are just anti-shottie and anti-rocket mods.

Shotties are far from invincible. Just learn how to play against them.

I have outlined ways to make threads like this cease to exist. It is quite simple really all you have to do is ignore them and not post. I've figured a new post about n00bs, shotguns, cheaters, and campers get put up about every 2 days... Why 2 days? SImple it takes the extra day for the previous thread about the subject to die after all the nice people that have been using this forum for a long time post the same insults and/or reasons why something is for n00bs, cheaters, shotguns, or campers. Don't like these threads don't respond and eventually they go away without even a whimper.

So you're saying that in real life if I shot you with 3 rounds from a Tommy Gun, you would still be alive, start dancing around me and shoot me point blank with a shotgun???
sorry it don't work that way, anyone getting hit by 3 rounds from a Thompson would be a crumpled, bloody mess on the floor and if the medic didn't find him and give him some morphine, said victim of tommy gun would die soon thereafter.

ok well I guess I will address the most embarssing part of my post first.

yes i was well "exaggerating" wintersforge about that so called ratio, not to mention i was refering to CKR where the shotgun is not as good as stock, or other mods. Now seriously though the ratio may be high, but it is true. How often do you let a shotgun kill you, that is not my ratio for an entire map, well... not always. But yes, I do normally got out alive in MOST shotgun battles, the only ones i lose are when there are more than one person, and even than.


Now the historical aspect, Well i did mention they were used, but not as much as other aspects of this game. and even so it doesn't mean I personally like the shotgun. nor do I like others, but if they like by all means use it, just realize the dissadvantages of it.

also wintersforge, do you have a link on the historical use of shotguns in war, as I knew they were used, but I am still can't find much about the extent they were used. and I never did brag about how i play. you misinterperted what I wrote, but oh well, i don't care.

So if you can beat a shogun almost all the time and the only time they do get you is when there are two of them, why are crying about it? It sounds like you should be encouraging shotgun use. I really like to find a room full of snipers looking the wrong way. You sound like you should feel the same way about shottys. Something doesnt add up. Are you fibbing? eek:

well my point is, if there are a few people, one with other wepons, SMGS etc, etc, i will go after them before the shotgun, unless otherwise eaiser. Nothing to special, just common sense.

Shotguns are ok, but honestly I've always gotten better results using the SMG's. If you miss with a shotgun you're wide open to the "counter punch" by your opponent as you reload.

If you dont use the weapon I think is cool, then they must be a noob. They dont complain when they beat a real noob with that weapon, but only when they get killed. Its crying, really. My pet peeve is nade spammers, but you dont see me on here crying that anyone that kills me with a grenade is a noob. That just wouldnt make any sense would it?
