kicked for "abusing the swear filter"
 

ok the other day i was playing on a server & i made a dumbass mistake...i think i slipped off a roof or something & cratered & said fuck which got turned into duck, i was then kicked for "abusing the swear filter". is it just me or is that kind of stupid? is duck a bad word now?

I don't know, that never happens to me, I cuss so much and it doesn't care...

The funny thing is when you say "duck" and all the people hit their crouch key.

That's pretty brutal.

The only scenario where someone could possibly get booted for abusing the swear filter would be if he/she was spelling curse words differently, (i.e. spelling them like they'd sound, like fawk, cawk, b@stard...etc).

Even THAT'S not terrible...

I'm debating on wether or not I should release the new filter with words like Noob, aimbot, etc blocked. I may just block them for the svrs like KAOS, DOA, and the AA.COM svr. Dunno yet.

my favorite is taco, heh or when someone says ur a newb. "You're a ducking outstanding player!!" heh

I hope that wasn't on the aa.com server.

The hole reason you would use the filter is so when you do slip like that, it's not such a big deal.

I can understand if someone contently tries to bypass it, that's another story.

Oldguy, I feel the same way. I don't bother to write in a swear word if I'm killed. Mind you, I say something in front of my computer, but I don't take the time to write it out, I just keep going.

Unfortunatley it work the other way as well, when I'm killed by someone who has skillfully done it, I rarly take the time to compliment them. i just like to keep going.

Well, I dunno wether or not I will block those words. Since they really aren't offensive, and they aren't curses, I guess they shouldn't be. Going back to what I said, maybe I'll just do that for the AA.COM server, and for DOA & KaoS.

how many times have we been down this road..what a moron you gota be.post after post about you not being able to cuss in a game.HOLY CRAP GET OVER IT.i got an idea for ya.start your own server..walk off the roof..then just cuss up a storm about it..at least that way everybody wont know what a compleate jackass you are..and if your lucky more jackasses will join your sever and if everybody else is lucky we will all get to play the game with normal thinking people who can have a thought without cuss words flyin outa there mouth.its my thought guys like you use those kinda names for the attention anyway.you like gettin kicked out of servers or you wouldnt use that name...just gives you somethin else to complain about.if your in my server...you would be kicked before you fired the first shot based on the name alone.anyone who disagrees with this post i just make is a likely candidate for your server..ENOUGH SAID...BUTCHER

Wow, Butcher, does he really say it that much, or are you in a grumpy mood? I don't swear into the computer...hardly do I talk, only to say even teams if it's really bad, like 2v10, or oh man for getting blown away. I don't swear in front of the computer either, note, my computer is located right in the middle of the house, and ear shot away from any room...boy would I be in trouble for saying other than "damn, hell, or bitch". Which, in the back of my mind, I'm think, "What should I say..."
