To follow up Wolf-Mans post namely Automatic doors, cell phones, and people have even started transporting atoms across large areas. Also if you have watched TOS (The Original Series) you might not know that a lot of the episodes were about something big hat was happening at the time. They even talk about Vietnam when most sensor wouldnt allow anyone to talk about it. Anyways I would have to say STNG (The Next Gnerations) is a lot better then TOS.

But it would be better if they had Marines instead of sissy security, Worf's the only one of the security guys who can fight well.

Star Trek is more about people then fighting. Marines would probably be good for the fighting, besides when fighting an enemy that uses more tactics then brute power and also the marines might not know how to use a phaser.

Nah, I'm pretty sure that the Marines are educated in phaser warfare.

I didn't say that the whole ship should be crewed by Marines. A modern carrier has about 50-100 Marines on board.
What tactics does the enemy use in Star Trek that are so superior to modern infantry tactics? Jump behind a cargo crate and get pinned down?
Or walk straight and attack your enemy hand to hand like the Borg?

As far as phasers are concerned, if it shoots a Marine can shoot it.
But they'd be better off replicating a couple dozen Thompsons or M-16s against the Borg.

Your a freak. I respect that you like this show but what the hell is a phaser? Give a marine a gun, and hes a killing machine, give him a phaser, and thats just plain dumb. IMO, this thread is completly moronic, move on.
