IT WORKS FINE BECUASE OF YOUR VIDEO CARD NOT YOUR PROCCESSOR.

intrestedviewer 08-10-2001 12:32 AM

ur video card wont do much good if u try and run a high quality game with a pentium 2 procesor.

Mad Dog 08-10-2001 12:34 AM

YOUR VIDEO CARD HAS 5x AS MUCH OF AN AFFECT ON THE PERFORMANCE AS YOUR PROCESSOR DOES.

Mad Dog 08-10-2001 12:36 AM

YOUR VIDEO CARD IS 10x MORE IMPORTANT THEN YOUR PROCCESSOR IS WHEN IT COMES TO RUNNING GAMES!!!!!!

Hans 08-10-2001 12:43 AM

WHY DON'T WE STOP ALL THIS YELLING!!!!????

geRV 08-10-2001 12:43 AM

Mad dog you are wrong. A cpu is the basic horsepower of any pc not every graphics cards supports hardware t&l like nvidia's geforce boards. I have a 1.33ghz thunderbird and a voodoo 5 since upgrading to the thunderbird games have been running a hell of a lot smoother.

Quake 3 is a gamewhere most graphics cards drop fps because they are fillrate limited. However with a good cpu the graphics card can offload the excess amount of work for the cpu todo.

You are only as good as your cpu when it comes down to it your graphics card even with Hardware t&l support still needs the cpu for other computations.

Of course, you are correct yes if you have a Moderate video card and a high-end proccessor then yes the proccessor will have the biggest affect. Although it depends on what video card and how much Ram and what kind of RAM you have.

What i'm trying to say is that Ladmo is full of shit. You'd need AT LEAST a 1.4 athlon and a GeForce 3 to run Max Payne with everything as high as it can be.

I upgraded my computer to a
P4 1.4 GHz
256MB RAM
Geforce 2 GTS 32MB

I hope to god this is good enough to run MOH:AA as good as it looked in the movies

Koshi 08-10-2001 01:50 AM

AMD Thunderbird 1.4 ghz
384 mb RAM
Visiontek GeForce 3 64mb
Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Surround Sound
52x CD-ROM, 16x DVD-ROM, Phillips CD-RW
30gb HD

Hope this runs it, lol. This is my main computer for gaming, but I have two others, this one im on now is shitty and I jsut use it for the web.

Koshi 08-10-2001 01:52 AM

Also, Quake III even runs on my P2 433 mhz with 16 mb voodoo 2 and stealth 3 card in it. So I'd say most people will be able to run MOH:AA. Thats why I lvoe the quake III engine, beatiful and flexible.

Hells-Angel 08-10-2001 01:53 AM

how would u know anyways

I have Quake III. MOH:AA uses the quake III engine. Same requirements.

I don't know why I would lie about that. I turned everything to it's highest setting last night, played for about an hour and it ran like a dream wiht no slowdown to speak of.

Koshi 08-10-2001 03:43 AM

I run max payne fine on my 550 mhz with tnt2

Neo8234 08-10-2001 04:07 AM

I just built myself a new comp, I could say it was for AA but it would be a lie http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif

I didn't know about AA yet when I built it, but I'm sure these specs will be more than enough to run it beautifully:

Athlon 1.33GHz, 266MHz Bus
512MB PC2100 DDR 2CL
Gigabyte GA-7DXR Mobo
Gainward GeForce3 64MB w/ Video in/out
Soundblaster Live! MP3+ 5.1
45GB IBM 75GXP ATA100
12x DVD
16x10x40 Plextor CD-RW

I sound like that guy asking if his brand new dell 1.4GHz w/ a GF3 can run MOH:AA http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Macchi 08-10-2001 06:11 AM

sounds good.......

Ladmo 08-10-2001 09:46 AM

As soon as I heard about MoH: AA I decided to upgrade my computer so that I would have no problem running this game with everything turned on. My specs are now

P3 877 MHz
384 megs of SDRAM
Geforce 2 64 MB DDR Pro

I've been running Max Payne with everything turned up and is runs like a dream, so I can't imagine that MoH: AA will have any problems. Now all I have to do is wait around till Nov. to get my grubby little hands on this fantastic looking game!

superdude 08-10-2001 09:47 AM

good job!

Neo you think that is a great computer you used to have. Well I had myself a P1 133 mhz voodoo1 before my P2 400 Mhz voodoo 2. Then I had a major jump up to my P4 1.3 system with the Geforce 3.

Ok the 500 wasn't that bad, but before that I had a Pentium 166 no MMX & a Rage Pro (which I upgraded to after having some basic 2MB card for a couple years).

Jerry 08-11-2001 11:37 AM

I have not been on these forums forever now, but I have to say. Some of you have Dream Systems and do not ever have to worry about any games running slow for the next year or so. I am jelous http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif. Well thats all I really have to say.

Yeah I'm lucky to have a system like that now. I only built it a week or 2 ago, but before it I had a system that couldn't play AA...
P3 500MHz
TNT2 Ultra, ack!
My other components were decent but still I would have the bare minimum for AA to work, so I'm very happy I got the money to upgrade! http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Kodiak 08-13-2001 01:20 AM

Very nice system... if AA doesnt run on that than that mean your system is cursed and you must give it to me and by a new one.

P.S. but be sure to fix it so AA work(sigh which it will)gfy
