Will AA. become BF1942?
Just wondering. With all the stuff coming out by modders, planes,halftracks.tanks,etc.....when is enough enough?? BF has all this stuff I'm told(I don't have it). I can understand new maps but eventually Allied Assault will become just like BF and it appears that those in this forum that have both games like Allied Assault better. Just wondering what others think.

I don't care about more weapons. I want a Judas the Insane Santa skin! evil:

BF1942 is a great idea. But the game engine is "N64 like" and very unrealistic. (if everyone throws enough grenades at a tiger tank, it will destroy it.)
Tanks should be close to indestructable unless you have anti tank weapons of another tank. If BF1942 had the graphics, realism and game play of MOH. I'd "re-buy" it in a heart beat. A game that would actually do what "WWII Online" tried to do but with real good graphics and a good game engine would be AWESOME. You would need to put limitations on the amount of tanks and planes usable at one time to insure you had enought "Gropo's" but I can only hope MOH goes that far. |

anyway, about the tanks, I think a nade could kill a tank, but you would have to roll it under the tank, the armor on the underbelly is virtually nil. Also something is wrong with the planes, I don't know if it's scale or their speed or what but they just close with the ground/a target a lot faster than in flight sims. |
it only takes 3 nades eek: but bf1942 lacks in the biggest factor for me, infantry. sure, riding around in your tanks and planes can be fun for a few minutes, but you don't take the thrill, the adrenaline pumping of knowing your enemy could be around that next corner waiting to pump you full of lead and you'll be down in under a second. that is what mohaa has and that is what i like, not flying around in a plane taking dozens of flak hits with 30 dumb bombs.

Dunno about you, but theres enough of the suprise factor in the levels that are UP CLOSE like STALINGRAD and BERLIN. These "carpet bomb" maps are the ones where - well you NEED carpet bombing. Nothing better than rushing an outpost, and knowing the enemies planes are circling, dropping bombs in the caverns you are trying to flank them with. MOH has nothing but close quarters simply because its what it was designed for. It isn't designed to have all these high-poly planes and tanks,. etc. That would but a knife right in the heart of your graphics card. I like BF for what it is and MOH for what IT is. I play BF more nowadays simply because it's new and theres more there (for now), and cause I actually paid for it. Gotta get my "blood moneys" worth. |
I'll make that skin for Jasper.
Anyways, I think the most fun in BF1942 is the planes. It's the one war game that I've played that's made me want to kami-kaze into the enemy. I just grab jeeps now to smash into tanks at full speed. This is what BF1942 is for, laughs. I can't see it being a real fun game, otherwise. |
