Better (in a way) than HANNIBAL. However, it plods along, and the dragons motivations arent really defined all too well.

Lecter really didn't need to be in this movie - but if he weren't, this movie wouldnt have made as much money as it did.

yeah Lector got most of his action prior to the first novel... so when the trilogy starts he is already incarcerated.

from memory though this book was by far the most graphic.

they should make a film about hannibal before he was captured, but then anothoy hopkins probably wouldnt be in that film

I thought it was much better than Hannibal, but I didn't like Hannibal. I thought it was almost as good as Silence of the Lambs. Well directed, well acted. Suprising from a guy who directed Rush Hour.

Hannible was fucking retarted, stick with a good flick like SPR

Hannibal was pretty crap but the book was pretty good. probably down to a lot of the stuff in Hannibal would transfer well to the film.... like learning about Lectors childhood.

i think if they made a prequel to the book series just to keep Lector on screen it would suck complete arse. Lector is the nastiest character created in recent fiction.... and the character depth laid out in the books is huge. Let some Hollywood director make something up on his own and it would be shite.

I totally agree !!!!! The no face guy in the book was a total nut job. You got a lot more back ground on him which was cool. I loved the book, the movie sucked. I missed jodie foster !

Red dragon was very good. Any movie that has me thinking about it for a few days is a damn good one in my book. I also thought the ending was perfect. I was really surprised.

This was the first movie i saw alone. I gotta tell ya you should try it sometime.
