Having A Little Bit of a Comp Problem

Well, about a month ago I brought my computer in to be repaired because my old HD was fried. So, after three weeks of waiting, they put a new hard drive in, but the difference with this new one is they "accidentally" put in a 60gig hd instead of the factory 40gig (read: warranty). So anyways I'm happy with the extra 20gig I got. So what is my problem? Appearantly I've been getting alot of slowdowns since i got this bigger HD and I think it's because they slapped in a slower one. Is there anyway I can see what speed (rpm) my HD is running at?

If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.

Tried using the force on my computer and all it got me was a headache and skinned knuckles.

How about, stop spamming in my thread.

Don't add fuel to the fire.

Now I know why nobody in here asks serious questions. Simpletons.

Well this is a pretty piss poor job of trying to help you, but I have never heard of a way to check that kind of info in Windows. I have not been to this site in a while, but pcpitstop.com is a good place to check just about everything about the speed of your comp. I'm not sure if it tells the speed of your HD but it's worth a shot. [url:90d24]http://www.pcpitstop.com[/url:90d24]

If you open up your box and look at the brand a serial number, you can go to the manufactors web site and find out.

Innoxx 10-12-2002 12:46 AM

Yeah, did that it runs at 7200rpm, but for some reason it clocked out at 4500rpm

Sindonesia 10-12-2002 01:03 AM

Where did check to see what it was clocked at?

Wow. 7200 clocking in at 4500. That is pretty slow mate. You can of course just contact the manufacturere about what to do about it, but I cant imagine it'd be going THAT slow, or noticeable to you at all.
