Random Task has returned! - New 1940 and SS Trenchcoat packs
Hey guys,
It's been awhile since I have been back here, and for some odd reason I can't login under my old name, so I had to re-register this one, but thats beside the point. Now on to the new packs! biggrin: I have created two new packs for MoH, and they are awaiting release pending everyones interest in them. The first pack, which I had the most fun making was the 1940 Blitzkrieg era uniforms for the Axis. They are the same design as the late war models, but the colors were much different during the first months of the war. The soldat wears a dark green tunic with black collar and shoulder boards, and instead of matching trousers he wears light grey as opposed to the light green of later patterns. His Stahlhelm is unpainted metal, fresh off the Greman factory presses, no logos or unit markers on the sides. The next set is a SS Trenchcoat package, they wear a black trenchcoat with full tunic underneath, and proper SS markings on the collar. Also consist's of black Stahlhelm with SS stamped on the side. Both of the sets are equipped with full gear and ammo pouches, and both follow my other 'class' type system, meaning you get Grenadier Version, MP44, MP40, MG42, Sniper, and NCO's. Also a new first time appearing, the new Commander version. (Posted in first pic below) Pics are posted below, comments welcome and will send these sets off to the mod section if everyone is interested. biggrin: |
They look good. And it's nice to see you're back again.
If you've ever downloaded Rataplan's Skinpack, it has 4 soldiers with their names simply "Soldier 1, Soldier 2," etc., they have nice uniforms but they have ugly faces and no gear. Maybe you could edit those uniforms and make them available for download. They look pretty realistic to me. If you don't want to you don't have to, but it's just an idea. Havoc_covaH |
heh
i dont understand...why do people go ga ga over these "skins." There not skins, all they are is .shader (or .tik, i dunno cuz i dont do this) re-coded so that these extra models are "pasted" onto exisiting models...i dont get it, with a tut anyone could do it...

Yes, anyone can do it, but not many can do it well. That's the point...

Actually, it is alot of coding with the .tik files, proper coding of shader files, and packaging of pk3's, but it is also editing the skins and making them look atleast somewhat historically accurate. (Lots of tiny things that most could care less about, but hey I'm picky happy: ) If skins aren't your thing, that's fine, no harm done. Thanks for the comments, I'll start packaging these guys up tonight. I may have them avalible on a temp server for those who cannot wait, however bandwidth will be limited. biggrin: Cheers |
