HOW CAN I CHANGE THE STARTUP TXT

When you first go into someones game Ive seen text that gives the user a message, i.e. "welcome to the game, please behave", Im not talking about a chat message, it appears in the middle of the screen and disappears and re-appears at timed intervals.

I want to know how I can alter this text to display my own message.

Hope Ive explained this well enough to get some help.

Thanks! cool:

That is done in the server configuration file. Look around on the main page of this site for tutorials / articles, and look for a server setup article.

It's not done in your server configuration.

1. Get PakScape from http://www.MOHAACREW.com (makes things easier)
2. Open "pak0.PK3" with PakScape
3. Go into the folder called "global"
4. Open the file "localization.txt" with a NotePad
* It will look something like this
- "Press Fire to Join the Battle" "Press Fire to Join the Battle"
5. What you need to do is edit the second one
* It should look something like this
- "Press Fire to Join the Battle" "Welcome to my server, etc."
- When someone joins your server the entrance text will say, "Welcome to my server, etc."
6. Make sure you do not put this file into a PK3. For some reason it doesn't work. Just put in your MOHAA directory like this
- MOHAA\main\global\FILE GOES HERE

Hope that helps.

Note that the file only works if you run a server. If you join someone else's server and they have a custom file, you'll see theirs. If they don't have the file, you'll see the default messages. The only way to see it is to have it on your own server.
