refresh rates

Hello,
When I run the game it locks the refresh rate @60Hz.
My desktop is set to 1280x1024 @85
Is there any way to bump the in-game refresh rate up?
I have
(just upgraded)
WindowsXP
Radeon9700pro
and also have latest patch 1.1US/UK

I'm at work now so I don't have a link handy. But there is a 3rd party addon.
So you can use your current desktop refresh in your games.

I found this link but I dont remember if it's the same one I had b4.

You can also check http://www.google.com ,
Do a search on "ati refresh fix"

I use the same resolution as the windows resoliton so i should have the 75 refresh rate i have set up in control panel.

But when i play , its a bit a pain for the eyes sometimes , i wondoer to know if i my refresh is 60 in the game.

Open the console with the ~ key. Type fps 1, press enter, press ~ again to close console and the fps will display in the lower left had corner. Hope that is right oOo:

My monitor has a 'viewmeter' which tells you resolution and refresh rates in an active program.
(Viewsonic)
Your monitor might have the same if you go to your menu(menu button on the monitor), while in a game you can check the current refresh rate.
I had the same thing happen to bf1942 but I checked a thread which explained how to fix it.
check this thread out(it's the #4)

this worked by unlocking the refresh rates in the game.
I'm looking for something similar in mohaa.
I can't really say if this happened when I had WinMe never checked it then.
If not, I'll check out what rudedog suggested.

What do faster refresh rates do anyway? I never knew

The screen has less flicker, 60Hz is kind of low, 85Hz and up are good depending on the monitor.

Danm yes you right , thanks.

Refresh rate at 60hz hurt the eyes if you want to know what is refresh rate.

For the other , i don' talk about FRAME RATE but refresh rate

For those who have WinXP:

Check out this article about refresh rates and winXP:
http://xp-refresh.net/

btw, does mohaa run in opengl?

t

rudedog 10-15-2002 04:33 PM

yes MOH runs opengl.

The refresh problem is WinXX related and not a problem with a particular game.

By using this 3rd party program, you can increase the amount of horizontal refreshes your monitor uses to display moving images. the more the better. Be careful running a refresh over your monitors rated rate can damage it. 70 -85 Hz is a fine and much easier on your eyes.

Thanks for the link Rubberman.

OK, I'm a little late, but here we go:

I find that the NV Refresh tool isn't all that great. I discovered Riva Tuner. It's alot more advanced, but still easy to use. Check it out here:

PS: I run MOH:AA at 120mhz! biggrin:
