Turning Points: The Somalia Affair
March 16, 1993. A Somali youth is tortured and beaten to death while in the custody of Canadian soldiers. That night of horror launches a four-year national saga, and the darkest chapter in Canadian military history. This documentary explores the chain of events that turned a proud regiment in to a public pariah, ruined numerous military careers, and tainted the governments of three Prime Ministers.
Turning Points: The Somalia Affair also includes exclusive interviews with the Somalia mission's commanding officer and a former prime minister. Another soldier speaks out for the first time about how he witnessed the torture, and a retired Lieutenant Colonel reveals how key players at national defense headquarters tried to prevent the public from learning the truth. Turning Points: The Somalia Affair airs Monday, October 21 at 9 pm ET/PT. For anyone interested, a program airing on History television Canada on the whole Somolia incident will be airing next monday. Check it out. http://www.historytelevision.ca/schedule/upcoming/ |

And I suppose that is partially because of the malaria drug they had to take. Once they killed that kid, all hell broke loose. [quote:8f9c4]...that reminds me, Ninty9...how did you go ... regarding your nuts...?... [/quote:8f9c4] Thanks for your concern, Mr. X. My nuts are fine. |
