*Sigh* Shotguns will be in Exp Pack

WHY GOD!? cry: Why must they allow the newb blasters into the Exp Pack. Tell me everyone, that when you were on a rampant run of blood and guts only to be silenced by someone shooting a shotty from almost all the way across the map and dropping like a Vietcong Hooker to your knees. It's really sad, I thought that EA actually play there games and play them avidly to relize that they need to take out Rockets and Shotty's. I mean honestly, did anyone ever see a standard issue soldier with a shotgun?

i don't really see what the big deal about them is, but then again i mostly play CKR where the only chance a shotgun has is when the people stop to laugh at them. not like it's impossible to take a couple of seconds to make a no-shotgun mod on your server.

Spiderm@n 10-18-2002 12:57 PM

And its not as if its the hardest thing in the world to be able to take a shotty whore out with an SMG thats pretty easy if you keep you distance and aim for the aim, do what i do mate use the axis rifle alot that'll get your aim to top standards.

Shotguns were issued and known as Trench Guns. I believe Winchesters were issue (maybe some gun nut can qualify this). If deployed properly and in the right hands a shotgun in stock can alter and change the course of a match. Its a brutally efficient weapon IMO. Same with rocket. I dont use rocket and hate getting blown up by em...but they are affective weapons. Most stock clan matches ive seen and played in have utilized both weapons as well as smg and sniper rifle. Great points though Butters...

[quote:4afbe]The United States military again turned to shotguns when the nation became embroiled in World War I. The tried and proven Model 1897 was slightly modified by the addition of a ventilated metal handguard and bayonet adapter and was referred to as the “trench gun.” The Winchester Model 1897 12-ga. trench guns, along with a smaller number of Remington Model 10 trench guns, saw action in the trenches of France during the closing months of the war. The trench gun soon garnered a reputation as a fearsome close-range arm, and the Germans even lodged official diplomatic protests against its use. Following the Armistice in 1918, the trench guns remained in the inventories of the U.S. Army and Marine Corps where they saw use in some “hot spots” in the Caribbean and China “between the wars.” The supply of shotguns left over from World War I was sufficient to meet the demand until the eve of World War II.
The Pearl Harbor attack found the United States military woefully short of all manner of arms. The World War I-vintage shotguns were about a quarter century old by that time, and the supply was insufficient to meet the burgeoning demand. The Ordnance Department gave contracts to several commercial firms for shotguns. There were three basic types procured during World War II; trench guns (with bayonet adapters and handguards), riot guns (plain, short-barreled guns) and longer-barreled trap or skeet guns (for training aerial gunners and for recreational use). Winchester Repeating Arms Co. supplied Model 97 and Model 12 shotguns of all three types. Ithaca Gun Co. produced a small number of Model 37 trench guns and a larger number of Model 37 riot guns and training guns. Stevens Arms Co. delivered trench gun, riot gun and training versions of its Model 520-30 and 620A shotguns. Remington Arms Co. turned out riot and training gun variants of its Model 11 autoloading shotgun, and Savage Arms Co. produced a number of the almost-identical Model 720 riot guns and training guns. Some of these shotguns saw combat use in most theaters of the war and, as was the case in World War I, they proved to be highly effective for close-range combat applications.

hope this answers your question.

Well, i dont see the point in taking out the shotty for the expansion pack because it is a good weapon. I use SMG all the time nowadays, its only when i keep getting killed by the same person i will actually rip out the shotty.

Most of the time though, you will find that you can actually silence those who use the shotgun, you just have to dodge and use cover between shots, its difficult but after a few goes youll master it. ;)

However, the rocket launcher is very annoying, especially if you are in a building and got no where to run. Try to get a shot in, but your already licking the ceiling by that time, and they should possibly consider taking the weapon out, or at least making an option to allow it or not.

I don't have any problems with the shotgun or rocket launcher. I am reluctant to use them because of all the bitching.

On second thought, the one issue I have is with the suicide rocket launcher users. We're in close quarters and you're going to blow me up taking yourself with me? That doesn't make any sense.

DJBUCKSHOT 10-18-2002 05:22 PM

Which is what i was reffering too when i was talking about tight spaces... Its stupid.

Also, if you keep pressure on a rocket user and fire at them constantly (no matter how far away), you are likely to hit them, whilst you are doing so, their aim goes all fecked and usually end up sending a rocket to the moon leaving you to take him out while he reloads :D.

DJBUCKSHOT 10-18-2002 06:21 PM

erm... Have you been submitted for drug testing? And maybe you should consider packman.

Miscguy 10-18-2002 06:39 PM

I'll be more pissed if they count it as one of the "new" weapons. A simple reskin and slap it in a ex pack will fucking piss me off.

Spiderm@n 10-18-2002 06:44 PM

agreed but its not counted as one of the new weapons mate.

Miscguy 10-18-2002 07:06 PM

Thank god.

DJBUCKSHOT 10-18-2002 07:08 PM

There would be too many people that know they have lied if they did that. Could file a lawsuit on trades description :D
