Connecting to MOHA

Hello.

I have greatly enjoyed the Auto Kick program developed by Crow King and I have embarked on an attempt to write my own program that will (Hopefully) detect bright skins, show map rotation, allow kicks and bans, and pretty much anything else that comes to mind while I’m doing it. I want this to be automated by the program once it is setup by the admin.

I am developing this in VB6

My problem is in actually making sense of the responses that MOHA sends. (Or perhaps in the correct method of addressing MOHA in the first place!) I am connecting via UDP (Winsock control) to port 12203 and all seems to be fine, but whenever I send an rcon command with the syntax "rcon <Password> <Command>" I simply get back a disconnected reply.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Regards

ISD

Is this server, a dedicated server located at a hosting company? If so, try restarting the whole computer, not just the moh.exe. Also because MOH rcon does not use the standard rcon protocol, you may have to tweak your program accordingly.

When in doubt send crowking an email. He is very good at helping others.
also check out his readme that came with autokick. He mentions someone who helped him. You may want to try that route as well

Good luck and let us know how this app turns out

Yes the server is a dedicated one at a hosting company.

Just to let you know:

Until I got this reply I completely forgot about this post! (Sorry!) I have spoken with Crow King and he was most helpful, showing me the one thing that was holding me back.

The program is currently under way and I am just adding the Map controls to it now. It will be ready for beta testing in about a week I hope. I have a friend who is a member of a MOH Clan, and they will be testing the program for me on their own server.

I will post back here as soon as I have any news and to show a download URL should anyone like to use it themselves.

I’m very sorry I forgot this post - I have now added a note to my programming Calendar so I will remember to keep you updated on how its going etc.

Thanks for your suggestions anyway.
