Mapping Problem
Everytime I make a map I go to test it and it brings me back to he menu after loading, without going into the map at all.
I hope someone here knows whats going on. |
Do you have a script? A start point and a dm start point? Is it single or multi?
|
Better question would be:
After you bounced back, click the ~ for the console, and what's the last 'error' or the last 20 lines.... |
well doesnt matter if the map has a script.
depends on how you are loading the map. if the maps .bsp file is in your main/maps folder then you can open it from console. make sure you have added a player spawn point. info-player-start is generally what I place when still editing the map. team spawn locations are not important till your ready to set those up. |
Yep, its most likely the info -> Player -> Start you need, a map will load without a .scr file. Buy you need a player start, not a spawn point, it wont work that'a way.
|
ITs a TDM I made for just me and my friends and I have the spawn point. I zipped it into a pk3 file also.
|
ok.
well if you have the player start point. and you have compiled the map to a .bsp the bsp file is in your main/maps folder then you can enter the map from the console type: map yourmapsname to select the map from ingame list. the map needs to have the .scr, ui, shader files all set up dosent matter if its a PK3 or not.. you just need to get the map working |
Ok, thx. i'll try it again tonight. happy:
