Capturing Video ....
 

How is this done ? I have an old capture card that came with a web cam that i never use. I ve capped vid with it before on my old amd300 machine so i could only cap with limited frame rate... What kind of software does this kind of thing ?

What I do is take a box, a stick,some string and popcorn. I then tie the string to one end of the stick and balance the box on the other end of the stick. I then take popcorn and place it under the box. After I have that set up I hide behind the couch and wait for a video to go for the popcorn. When the video goes under the box I pull the string and Walla I've captured video with the popcorn, and everyone knows videos and popcorngo great togther)

Not a matter of software you need a better capture card. You can buy a cheap card with svideo\composite inputs for probably about $50 and this should work a lot better.

I have a dedicated pc for recording and it uses a oinnacle pctv rave card, though its equipped with over 300mb of ram and a pentium 3 550.

Youre better off doing the actual recording on a seperate pc. My pc has an 8500 radeon with tv out thats connected to the svideo in on the tv rave card on the second pc. Doing it all on one pc is possible but the cpu really gets raped, with you playing a game plus recording and encoding video at the same time your pc will most likely crash a lot.

Well, on another question, I just got a new video card, an XFX (PINE TECHNOLOGY) GF4 Ti4200 128MB 128 bit TV-OUT & DVI and I want to know, what is the TV-Out cable for? (I have never had a video card with that coming with it) Any help will be appreciated.

Tv out lets you dispay your pc on a tv or another pc. Just conect the svideo cable to your tv, turn tv to a\v channel and enable tv out. :)

OK I'm interested in seeing how my shit looks on my tv, but the default chord these asses send to you is fucking small as shit - not more than 6 inches long.

And do I need an actual 'camcorder" to record shit? Or can I use a VCR or something.

I tried the tv out thing ... you can get a coupler type deal to extend the cable... then buy a section of mono rca cable .. Mine looked about like shit.
Plus, whenever i tried to out a full screen dvd movie to the tv i couldnt see it ... i cant find any thing useful to do with the tv out eek:
