Are more log file settings known?
 
I have succesfully implemented Mohstats on my mohaa server using their recommended logfile settings:

Set logfile 3
Set developer 1

These settings were taked straight from the Mohstats instructions and work fine, but I have no clue what they mean, and what other settings exist. All of our players love the daily stats update, but many have asked to have the stats updated hourly or in real time. My understanding is that once the stats settings are set on the server, the logfile stays open until the server is shutdown. I have the logfile settings in the server config file, therefore, I couldn't move the logfile for parsing without shutting down the server every hour. This is not an option!

I was wondering if there are more logfile settings that are known that might tell the server to stop logging and close the logfile. This would give me the chance to move the logfile and process it for stats updating. The only minor downside is that any action in the game during the "close logfile, move logfile" process would not be recorded, but I've calculated this time period to be as brief as 15 seconds so not much would be missed.

So, can anyone tell me what "Set logfile 2" does? How about 1 or 4 or 5?? Can anyone help me here?

I'm not sure exactly what the settings mean for logfile or developer, but you can try something else. Create a shell script that copies the log file every hour and runs MOHStats on it. Don't ask me how, I'm not a shell scripter, but some on this forum may be. Keep in mind, though, that real time stats will encoumber your server big time, so you probably wouldn't want that anyway.

set console to server only 0 is a listen, 1 is lan, and 2 is internet (command line cvar causes engine not to load 3D game just a server console C:\Q3TEST\quake3.exe +set dedicated 2) - Dekard

enable console logging 0=no log 1=buffered 2=continuous 3=append so as not to overwrite old logs

pretty sure the different logfile settings either dont work or do nothing different.

this article on server setup settings was posted in the news section of aa.com not long ago..... check what they do......

only ever seen ppl refer to dev 1 although i think how that reads you want dev 2 so that its logging internet only crap ?

please post back with some findings man.
