TKing With FF OFF in V2 Map.

okay everyone. this is just a warning to you.

i was playing on a good server yesterday, and the map switched over to V2. i joined axis and hid behind the barrels near the rocket like i always do.

all of a sudden a rocket came outta nowhere and hit the barrels. the barrels blew up and killed me. i could of swore it was a teammate, but i couldnt prove it. so i did the same thing again, but this time, i watched everyone near me.

i went near the barrels again, and wouldnt ya know it. i looked to my left and saw one of my teammates with a rocket launcher walk up to the boxes to the left of me. he came out and shot a rocket at the barrels. killed me again.

FF was off, just to clarify that.

just watch out where you are in that map. if a person is smart, they will know to get you there, even with FF off.

thats my heads up for the day. thanks.

Thats not actually a new one and the "TKer" doesnt get credited with a kill/negative kill. Technically you blew up like you steped on a mine and you get a death and (maybe a negative kill). The TKer just has one less rocket. It works this way anywhere with barrels (red or black I believe).

Anyone else ever noticed that if you shoot the red barrels to kill someone, you dont get a kill, he just "blew up".

Yeah, this is a fairly old glitch that I discovered when a nade went off next to the barrels and I ended up dying.

Long story short, if you see a nade or rocket flying towards barrels, don't sit there and stare at it :-)

Or it was a telefrag. You can fire a rocket and if you go into specator before the rocket goes off it will kill whoever it hits. Its a lot harder to do then tele-grenading.

every n00b finds this out first night they play.

the barrel and grenade thing is only for the v1.11. i think if you read the "Read me" it says some shit about that

Bleuachdu 10-31-2002 02:47 PM

Well, I didn't know about it. But I play OBJ very very rarely.

MPowell1944 10-31-2002 02:57 PM

same with me Bleu.

i never had that happen to me, so obviously i didnt know it exists.

rudedog 10-31-2002 07:26 PM

Same thing here, don't play Obj that much but I do remember this happening to me on that same map.

I think it's time to change over the aa.com sever to obj for a couple of weeks.

Taz the Maniac 10-31-2002 07:53 PM

I always play OBJECTIVE, it's actually old this news ... But good to let them know ! wink:

i accidentally tk ed someone once using that technique. i throw nades at the barrels while i wait for the allies cause it can get pretty boring, and i blew one of my buddies up. i think it was in a clan match too. yeah, that sucked.

Thanks for the heads up as this one is news to me. I usually don't stay still long enough for this to happen to me.

descry 10-31-2002 08:35 PM

lol hey JowShmoe
i do that to. i gets pretty borin waiting for the allies to come eh. im usually by the door at the far end with a sniper rifle waitin to snipe bitches that walk through the control room. ive blown up a couple of my team members doin that but i meant to cause i know them. my friend always hides behind them so hes a perfect target. he gets pissed off sometimes though and blows me off the railing with a rocket but its still fun.
