Scripting Questions about Gloves in FPS.
I am in the process of finishing up a set of great RED ARMY skins (which if I say so, are the best so far! Sorry for te plug...) . However I am having a heck of a time with my Red Army Winter Skin.. I can't figure out how to get the gloves to come up on my hands in the FPS view... I checked the skinning tutorial here, but it was of no help.
Can anyone give me a quick example of how to do this, or direct me to a tutorial which addresses this problem? I'd be most appriciative.. [/url] |
this might be one of those things where sleeves and gloves in FPS will not show up unless the server has the skin too. for example your gloves may show up in a game you set-up yourself on your computer, but will not show up on a different server.

Well as far as the model texture goes, the gloves show up fine when you look at the guy. Problem is when I wear the skin and I am looking at my own hands. I don't quite know how to alter the script so that I can put gloves on my hands... I suspect it involves altering both TIK files. (ie; playerskin.tik & playerskinFPS.tik). I've even examined a few scripts by people but it's wayyyy to wierd. they all follow some screwed up random scripting pattern to get their gloves on their guys, which will ony perplex the average user.

Pretty basic. Replace:
surface lefthand shader handview surface garandhand shader handview with: surface lefthand shader grmn_winter_glove surface garandhand shader grmn_winter_glove on the xxxxx_fps.tik file. That's all folks (of course you can use your own shader with your own gloves instead). YoChoy |
lets shut up and figure out what the problem is. now whats the prob? your skins don't show up in gamespy? gloves are like weapons n skins in shit. you have to look at a weapon skinning guide and it will take you step by step. you have to add the file to zip so the game can read it biggrin:
im not the guy to ask. ask S7ATiC haha |
ok that helped him 0
maybe you should when you know something k? |
