What does "lest" mean? is it one of those latin/bible words that no one uses anymore?

It means "for fear that".

Lest we forget means "Let's keep remembering the sacrifice of our noble veterans or we may forget how horrible war really is".

Yup lets remember but im not canadian but i remember all of my family that fought in wars going all the way back to the civil war i never knew them but they are still my family. cry:

And also I thank you. I am kinda mad on how majority of today's youth think remembrance day is another holiday to get a day off school. Some I know including my self feel we must remember those who fought for our freedom during many conflicts through out history.
