2 Gf4's...

Lesse, we have the:

Geforce4 Ti 4200 64 mb for about $110 bucks (pricewatch)
or
Geforce3 Ti 500 64 mb for about $105 bucks

Now, theyre SO close, which ones better? Is the Gf4 really that much better?

I already have a Gf3 ti 500, but my other comp need a video card upgrade pretty bad. My radeon doesnt do the fog in Americas Army, and it looks like crud. And for only 100 bucks or so.....

What do you think? I can compare numbers, but 3.8 billion whatevers and 5.2 whatever billion stuff's dont mean much to me :)

how the hell do you get these things for so damn cheap? are the video cards messed up or something?

if not, those prices are damn amazing.

because when you buy from a company like bestbuy they add to the price so they can make dough. Buy wholesale like at computer conventions or [url:569a1]http://www.pricewatch.com[/url:569a1] and you get a better deal. I found a Geforce 4 MX on there for 46 bucks before.

holy shit - this is incredible. I've heard of pricewatch before, just never believed it.

Heh, I got a XFX GeForce 4 Ti4200 128MB from http://www.newegg.com for $150, retail, and I saw a Verto 64MB PCI card at Circuit City for $165 it really is a whole lot better.

I've had bad expierances with a Elsa Gladiac Geforce 2 MX 400 64 MB DDR - Therefore, I won't purchase generic brands anymore because I popped in a Nvidia Geforce 2 MX 200 and it worked fine...

It is amazing..

I would reccomend the Gainward GF4 Ti4200.. priced at about 130, 140 dollars at newegg.com.

It was an incredible buy, worth every penny.

I would definitely go with the ti4200...you could overclock it to the same speeds that the 4400 run at (stock)..

and newegg.com is widely known on hardcore pc and overclocking forums...they have low prices, are very reliable and have great customer service.

Slinky2397 11-05-2002 10:45 PM

Yeah, I got my Ti4200 and it's overclocked major and it's not showing any downfall. It's really great.

KILLER_ 11-06-2002 01:11 AM

I've built 2 systems all with with parts ordered from newegg. They generally ship within the same day as the order (or definately next day.) The 4200 is way better then the gf3. The MSI 128mb 4200 supports dual monitor and has vivo. Most others are lcd & monitor.

What absolute said. The gf4 is better to start and you can overclock it. The 3ti500 is aready overclocked. Pricewatch has great prices, but I stick with newegg for most of my purchases. Excellent service, free 2-3 day shipping anywhere in the country. I saved $10 bucks on a burner from someone else, but had to wait almost 2 weeks to get it.
