I need a little help NOW....
 

My clan {MOB} recently had a match with [ICB].
During and after the match [ICB] members were complaining about us cheating.
The next day I recieved an email through an anonymous web remailer.
From an [ICB] member still complaining about us cheating.
Now one of my clan members has recieved an email from a [ICB] member with a screen shot of an ASE browser window showing my server set to ( cheats 1)

My question is,
What would cause the cheat 1 setting?
I know of most of the cheats out there. I don't know of any cheats that would cause this setting to show in the ASE browser.

If there is a cheat setting that would show this on the ASE browser, wouldn't it mean the cheat would be active for everyone playing?
The same way the gravity can be changed on the server.

I think in MOHAA 1.0 there was a way to activate cheats in MultiPlayer.
Wasn't the cheat setting removed in the 1.11 patch?
My server is version1.11

Can anyone see a way this picture was doctored?

I'm the only one in my clan with access to the server.
There have been no server changes in the last week.

I would apperciate anyone's input on this.
This is really driving me nuts.

Not sure why it says that. They are probably just bitter since they lost. Have you looked on any other servers and seen if this shows up on them? Hopefully someone can figure it out.

By the way, Congratulations on you Victory.

It's not hard to doctor it all you have to do is us the paint program. Spray the area where there is 0 for cheats and change it to a 1. You can doctor anyones server info using that. What you have there is no proof of cheating.

I'm not sure myself exactly what cheats you can get away with while the cheat setting is turned on. However, given that people can spawn crap on your server to bog it down or make it crash, it wouldn't surprise me if they can change the cheat setting. However, that's probably unlikely.

My guess is that the setting is turned on from the command line (if you're running this server yourself and you set up cheats when you were playing SP). Either that, or this guy is BS'ing you and doctored the image (wouldn't be hard as it is just a black number surounded with white space - besides, the compression of the image is a little extreme...).

I don't know.. Just set your config to turn cheats off (seta sv_cheats 0 - or something like that) and don't let these guys get to you. Tell them if they're really that messed up about it you'd be happy to have a rematch.

It could be away of it showing that you are running a realism mod. Just a guess.

I don't think so. Mods don't effect simple cvars on the server unless they're specifically written to (mixedmaps mod or dogtagz).

This is a dedicated server from ILAN.

Funny thing is, we have already offered to play them on their server and they wouldn't.

We are both on the OGL ladder, so now we are going to beg them to challenge us. We can't challenge them because they are on a lower rung.

This just pisses me off so bad.
I've done nothing but my best to run a cheat free server. Then to have some little no name idiots try and smear my name and my clans name.

He probably edited the photo with paintshop or something like it. They just can't take the loss.

Yeah, it's really not gonna do you any good to get worked up over this. People claim other people cheat all the time. But without real proof (and ASE is hardly proof), they're just blowing smoke up your ass. And anyone who's got half a brain will know that, should they make a big deal about it to anyone other than yourselves.

The weird thing about this is that i shutdown my server last night to install some maps and dmz dogtag and when i started the server back up i noticed my server said cheats 1. i shut the server down again and restarted it then it was back to saying cheats 0. This could just be a bug with ASE. I wouldnt put it past people to figure out how to change that on a server. I thought it was just a glitch. Weird coincidence that it happens to two servers about the same time. Does anyone even know what you could get away with having it set to 1? As far as I know all the hacks can be used either way, so what good is having it to 1?

Look what I was able to do in about 5 minutes with a cheap graphics program. Keep in mind, I don't know ANYTHING about graphics.
