You put Fast & The Furious and SPR in the same league?!

F&TF, SUCKED ASS. It's not even a movie, the plot and acting were pure shit...
SPR, was brilliant, superb acting, a standable plot, with realistic war scenes...

I still can't see what you are saying...Care to elaborate?

Old Reliable 11-09-2002 06:59 PM

When a girl says they liked Fast and the FUrious it's a turn off

I'm sure you heard about the Michigan basketball having to forfiet there games for taking money from alumni. That sucks I don't think the school should have to be punished that bad. They really put it to them.

Ahem, that still doesn't answer the question.
I think "Saving Private Ryan" is one of the best war movies ever. It's definately in my top 5.

I think the movie in and of itself is good, I enjoyed the movie, it's the fans that worry me. Whenever I'm playing a ww2 based game or on a ww2 based forum or chatroom I see about million unorigional fucks who go by "Private jackson" or "sgt horvath" it bugs the hell outta me. That and I hate matt Damon. Band of brothers was brilliant, Stalingrad and Das Boot was also great, and also Full Metal Jacket, just to name a few war movies greater than spr. What I'm trying to say is that spr was too much of a shoot em up for me, it was like an Arnold Schwarzeneger movie with 60 year old weapons. What I loved about Saving Private Ryan was the sheer scale of it, hundreds of men running up a beach to 7 soldiers walking through a canola field, that illistrates how war can be. Other than that the movie wasn't very ground breaking. Overall if I want a good old shoot 'em up Blockbuster flick I think SPR is good, in terms of illistrating the war and historical significance, time is better spent watching a Julia Roberts' movie. Don't agree with what I said? Too bad because that's my opinion.
